Sports was such an influence on my formative years in the 1950s and 1960s not only playing each
sport but the excitement, joy and pleasure of watching great performances and competition. It was my
whole social life but it taught me indirectly discipline, hard work, teamwork, concentration, loyalty and
determination. All these qualities that I learned at such a young age were instrumental when I
embraced the Tao and its Way in my daily Taoist discoveries, practices, understandings, teaching and
writing.

(This was our team that we listened to on the radio, Windsor Stadium preseason locker room visit at age 8 & every Sunday on TV
