A Thanksgiving Prayer
O Lord, only You can count all the
blessings of my life. I give you thanks
for the gifts of memory and
expectation, for pleasure that comforts
and pain that brings needed change,
for deep meanings revealed and for
that which remains unknown because
I may not be able to accept it, for
variety and difference in my world, for
melody and silence, for all my senses….. and above all for the
overpowering feeling that I am loved and accepted by You and
that nothing can separate me from that love. In Jesus’ name, I
pray. Amen.

Monday, October 13th is Thanksgiving Day. We will have Mass at
9:00 a.m. and the office will be closed.

Last weekend, on the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, John Francis
Carsone, one of our parishioners and Children's Liturgy leaders,
made his profession as a member of the Secular Franciscans! As
professed lay persons, people like John Francis live a share of the
religious vows as a small but powerful witness to the life and
service that we are all called to. Congratulations, John Francis,
and thank you for your Christian witness!
MAINTENANCE COLLECTION
Today’s 2nd collection will be taken up for the monthly
maintenance of our church. Thanks for your constant support!
San Martino Dinner Dance
We will be holding our next Dinner Dance on Saturday, November
8th at 6:30 p.m. in our Parish Hall. The theme is “San Martino”
which celebrates the Feast of St. Martin along with the old Italian
tradition of tasting the new wine and chestnuts which would have
taken place at harvest time. We will start with a nice dinner of
antipasto, pasta, meatballs, sausage, vegetables, salad, fruit,
coffee & dessert. There will also be raffles and a DJ to entertain
us. Dinner/dance tickets are $40/person and $15/child 12 yrs. of
age or under and will be available at the office during the week.
Pre-Authorized Giving
On the weekend of October 25/26, we have invited a
representative from the Archdiocese of Toronto to speak to
us about the options and benefits of pre-authorized giving.

Next weekend is World Mission Sunday all over the world.
Collection envelopes and prayer cards for this purpose are at the
entrance of the church and funds will be dedicated to spreading
the Good News!
55+ Group
The 55+ group will be getting together in the Parish Hall this
Thursday, October 16th at 9:30 a.m. for some Pizza and a game
of Bingo. All the young at heart are invited!

Meeting of the St. Vincent de Paul Society
There is a meeting of the SVDP Society on Monday, October 20th
at 7:30 p.m. Anyone interested in finding out about the good
works of the St. Vincent de Paul Society or to become a member
is invited to this meeting.

Please consider including yourself in St. Clare's 100th
Anniversary Pictorial Directory so that we can come to recognize
each other better in this beautiful parish of St. Clare. Our last
photo directory was issued in 2000! Each individual or family who
has their picture taken will receive a free book.

Gruppo 55 e Più
Il Gruppo 55 anni e più si riunisce questo giovedì, 16 ottobre
alle 9:30 a.m. nella Sala Parrocchiale per un pò di Pizza e un
gioco di Bingo. Un cordiale benvenuto a tutti.

Sabato scorsco, 4 ottobre, festa di San Francesco d’Assisi, uno dei
nostri parrocchiani, ministro della Parola per la liturgia con i
bambini, John Francis Carsone, ha emesso i voti religiosi come
terziario francescano. Come tale, John Francis ha promesso di
vivere l’impegno religioso, testimoniando nella vita quotidiana la
sua fede in Cristo e nella Chiesa tramite la spiritualità francescana
laicale. La nostra comunità coglie questa occasione per rivolgere
a lui i nostri più fervidi auguri, ringraziandolo per il suo servizio e
la sua testimonianza Cristiana.
Festa di San Martino
Festeggiamo San Martino con Cena e Ballo, sabato, 8
novembre alle 6:30 p.m. nella sala parrocchiale. Offriamo una
bella cena con antipasto, pasta, polpette e salsiccie, verdure,
insalata, caffé e dolci e non dimentichiamo il vino con le
tradizionali castagne! Ci saranno sorteggi e musica per
rallegrare la serata. Biglietti in vendita in ufficio - $40 a
persona e $15 per bambini sotti i 12 anni.

Notate la data nuova: La parrocchia di St. Clare vorrebbe stabilire
un Concilio Parrocchiale. Chiunque fosse interessato a far parte
di quest’importante ministero, è pregato di mettersi in contatto
con Padre Saverio chimandolo nell’ufficio della Parrocchia. Ci sarà
una riunione iniziale giovedì, 23 ottobre alle ore 8:00 di sera.

100mo Anniversario a modo ci possiamo riconoscere l’un con
l’altro in questa bellissima Parrocchia di St. Clare. L’ultima lista
fotografica è stata stilata nel 2000! Abbiamo stabilito alcune
nuove date per le sedute fotografiche, e sono lunedì e martedì,
27 e 28 ottobre dalle 2:30 p.m. alle 8:30 p.m. e sabato, 1
novembre dalle 10:00 a.m. alle 3:00 p.m. Chiamate l’ufficio
appena possibile per prendere un appuntamento.
