Plan To Save During Our
Easter Egg
Savings Promotion
What Does That Mean?
The saying “Save For A Rainy Day” has been
around for a long time. You’ve probably heard
your parents or grandparents say it.
“Save For A Rainy Day” means to save money for
a time in the future when you might need it – like to buy
something special such as a bike or new toy, for college, or even
when you get older and want to buy a car.
Everyone Is a Winner!
During the entire month of
March, every time you come
to the credit union office to
make a deposit for $5 or more,
you’ll receive a plastic egg.
Inside that egg is a piece of
paper describing what your
prize is. Everyone is a winner
and you could receive:
When you’re young, it’s important to start saving at least part of
the money you receive. When you develop a good savings habit,
it will stick with you as you get older, and you’ll be surprised how
quickly your money can add up over time if you save on a regular
basis…even if it’s just a little.
• McDonald’s gift certificate
If you received money for the holidays, now is a perfect time to
deposit some of that money in your Penny Savers Account. Just
see how your money can grow in one year.

Congratulations to Sara C., Sasha J. and Brian C.,
who each won the $25 gift certificates to Barnes &
Noble for the Summer Reading Challenge; and all
three members also won $25 during our Coloring
Contest.
We encourage you to participate in these special
savings offers when they are available because your odds
of winning are great! You can see that three of our Penny
Savers members won both prizes.
Holiday Stocking Winners: The winners of our two 8’
holiday stockings will be announced in the April issue of the
credit union’s newsletter, and the July issue of Pennywise.
Our Birthday Gift To You!
A FIST FULL OF COIN!
Stop into the credit union office during the week
of your birthday and receive your birthday gift!
Reach into our coin jar with one hand and grab a
fist full of coin…and that’s the amount that we’ll
deposit into your Penny Savers account for you.
Only our Penny Savers members can reach into the jar (no
parents or siblings please). Children too young to grab coins may
have $5.00 deposited into their account when they visit the
credit union office.
Be Safe
We care about YOU and we want you to be safe.
• Don’t email with strangers or provide any kind of
information about yourself when you are on the Internet,
in public, or if someone calls your home.
• If you are skiing or snowboarding, always wear a helmet,
and don’t ski or snowboard alone.
• Never go on ice unless it’s been checked by an adult for
safety first…and never go out on the ice alone. If you go
on the ice, stay close to the shore.
• Never sled into a street, and don’t wear long scarves
around your neck when sledding or skiing.
What you will need:
• Tootsie Pops
• Green ribbon
• Hole punch
• Scissors
• Silk flowers petals from old flowers. (Just pull the flowers apart and throw away
what you don’t need. You can buy these cheaply at dollar or second-hand stores.)
How to make:
1. Decide which silk petals you would like to use. String them onto the end of
the Tootsie Pop. You may have to make the hole in the middle of the flower
a little bigger to get them over the wrapper.
2. Tie about twelve inches of green ribbon below the silk flower petals to
keep them from falling off. You can also tie a small card with a Valentine
Southfield Office
message on with the ribbon. Curl the ends of the ribbon with the
Providence Medical Building
scissors by pulling the ribbon over the edge of the scissors quickly.
