Crest/seal
Seal
It is expected that students’ attire be neat and appropriate with garments free from holes, rips,
tears, torn hems, excessive wrinkles, etc. Students are expected to follow and adhere to the
uniform policy as follows:
A school polo shirt or school t-shirt is worn underneath the sweatshirt so that the
sweatshirt may be removed if the days turn warm.
Tuck in shirts at all times.
No hats, sunglasses or jackets (without an SA logo) should be worn inside.
Shorts must be of proper length. How to tell if your shorts are too short: Stand
straight, arms relaxed and straight at your sides. The tip of your middle finger
should fall on the hem of your shorts. If your shorts are ABOVE the tip of your
middle finger, they are too short, and should not be worn to school. This also applies
to shorts worn on non-uniform days. Students not in compliance with the policy will be required to
call home and have appropriate clothing brought to change into.
In addition, Salisbury Academy students may NOT wear:
T-shirts with inappropriate language or scenes (no alcohol or drug advertisement)
“Sag and drag” pants
Low-rise pants
Midriff tops
Strapless tops or tops with straps less than one inch wide

DRESS UNIFORM
Tops: Girls: White collared polo or peter-pan collared shirt (SA crest/seal is optional)
Boys: White collared polo with SA crest/seal
Bottoms: Girls: Uniform plaid jumper or skirt
Boys: Khaki/stone pants (no olive, gray, or white) or khaki/stone shorts
(No cargo pants or cargo shorts)
Socks: Girls: White or black tights, knee hi or socks
Boys: Black or White socks
Belt: Brown or Black leather
Optional: Hunter green (evergreen) sweater, sweatshirt or fleece jacket (no hood) in school colors
or black with Salisbury Academy seal or crest/seal
GENERAL UNIFORM FOR EVERYDAY
Tops: Collared polo (2-4 button golf shirts) long or short sleeve in school colors or white
Bottoms: Girls: uniform plaid or khaki jumper or skirt, or khaki shorts, pants, or skorts
Girls or Boys: Khaki/stone pants (no gray, olive or white) shorts mid-thigh or longer
(No cargo pants or cargo shorts)
Sweatshirts: School colors with Salisbury Academy (SA) seal/crest, words, or approved spirit
sweatshirts with Salisbury Academy graphics
Optional: Full or half zip fleece vest/jacket (no hood) in school colors or black with school
crest/seal; hunter green sweater with Salisbury Academy seal, and/or black winter coat with school
crest/seal
Shoes: Tennis, deck, loafers or oxfords-closed –toes, closed-heel and closed-sides (no sandals,
clogs, etc.)
Socks: Girls: tights in white or black, or socks in white solid school colors
Boys: black or white
Belt: Optional brown, black, or school colors
Hair Accessories: Basic hair bows, scrunches, headbands in solid school colors or uniform plaid
only. Head bands sold by Salisbury Academy are allowed.
P.E. UNIFORM
Warm Weather: Royal blue light-weight gym shorts (No logos allowed. – These can be purchased
at Ultimate Sports in downtown Salisbury. Ultimate Sports offers a 10% discount with the SA
discount cards) and SA grey or royal blue t-shirt. All students must wear tennis shoes to PE class.
Cold Weather: Royal blue sweat suit (sweat shirt and sweat pants) with SA crest/seal, over shorts
and SA grey or royal blue t-shirt. Students are required to wear their P.E. uniform to school only on
P.E. days. All students must wear tennis shoes to PE class.
*Please note that no logos are allowed on clothing except the Salisbury Academy (SA) logo.
All clothing must be labeled with child’s name.

The Division Head will deem inappropriate dress if necessary.
 Violations of the uniform policy will result in student loss of the next non-uniform day.
Five (5) non-compliance violations will result in student work session designated by
Division Director.
DRESS UNIFORM
Tops: Girls: White short-sleeved crest/sealed polo with green sweatshirt/sweater with SA
crest/seal.
Boys: White oxford cloth, button-down collar shirt, long sleeved (not if wearing sweatshirt or
sweater), OR white short-sleeved polo with crest/seal
Bottoms: Girls: Uniform plaid skirt
Boys: Dress khaki pants (no cargo or shorts)
Socks: Boys: black or white socks
Girls: optional for girls
Belt: Brown or black leather
Hair Accessories: Basic hair bows, scrunches, headbands in solid school colors or uniform plaid

*Note-Dress uniform will be required for some occasions, such as field trips, pictures and occasional school
programs. Parents will be notified ahead of time when dress uniform is required and when crest/sealed polo is
acceptable for boys.
