Info About Animalia
● The major group of animals are classified under
the Kingdom Animalia, also known as Metazoa.
● Cell type: Eukaryotic
● Cells have nuclei
● All members of the kingdom are multicellular
● They are heterotrophs, depending on other
organisms for food
● The cell membrane is composed of proteins and a
phospholipid bilayer
● The cells reproduces asexually while the
organisms themselves reproduce sexually
Characteristics About Animalia
● Most of the animals inhabit seas not many are seen
in fresh water and even fewer on land
● There are about 9 to 10 million animal species that
inhabit the earth. Only 800,000 species are
identified.
● The animal cell contain organelles like the nucleus,
mitochondria, ribosomes, endoplasmic reticulum,
lysosomes, vacuoles, centrioles, cytoskeleton etc.
● The cells obtain the nutrients needed for survival by
ingestion of other organisms
● Cells move as a team
