HOMECOMING ISSUE
“The Evolutionary”

Coronation– On Sunday October
12th the coronation of Mister and
Miss Bowie took place in the
auditorium of the Martin Luther
King Building. On this annual
occasion the students of Bowie
State got to see the royalty of
their school at their finest. This
event symbolized the beginning of
the official reign of Rajah Hilliard
& Marissa Massey. During this
event there were tributes given to
both Marissa and Rajah from the
previous Mister and Miss Bowie.
This joyous occasion was the
start of homecoming the
evolution.
Mister & Miss Bowie have been official sashed
Bowie’s Got Talent On Monday October 13th the
students of Bowie State looked
forward to the annual talent show
that takes place every year. Every
year the students sit back and
relax as they watch their peers
perform their talents in front of the
student body. These talents vary
anywhere from singing to dancing
all the way to comedy acts. This
event was huge success and sold
out of tickets by the end of the
day. The acts of this event were
very enjoyable and got the
students of Bowie State excited
for what was to come throughout
the week. This was an excellent
event to bring the students
together and raise school morale.
Bowies Got Talent is one of the
most anticipated events of the
semester and this year’s
performers and performances
were not a disappointment.
Bulldog Madness !!
- Bowie State continued to
have the students pumped for
the athletics programs by
having the men’s and women’s
basketball programs display
their talents in front of the
student body. The men’s and
women’s basketball program
did not disappoint as they
competed in dunk contest,
three point shoot outs and
ultimately a 5 on 5 scrimmage
that showed how the teams would
look in the spring time. As
students are excited about the
football they are still reminded of
the athletic excellence that the
other programs posses.

The Big Day. 150 DEGREES!!!!
October 16th the day that all of the
students have been waiting for.
This was the highly anticipated
concert with performances from
some of hottest artist in the
industry. Leonidas James athletic
complex was filled to capacity
with barely any room to stand.
With performances by August
Alsina, Lil Boosie and Yo Gotti the
students were in for a night that
they will never forget.

Greek Step show was a
success After the concert the Greek letter
organizations on the campus put
on a spectacular performance for
students. Students have been
exposed this type atmosphere
before but now they get see the
fraternities and sororities
showcase their talents as they
compete for cash prizes and
bragging rights. As the show went
on there were excellent
performances from all of the
organizations that performed. The
score was very close but Kappa
Kappa Psi would walk away
victorious as the 2014 step show
champions.
Virginia State Ruins Bowie’s
Homecoming – As Bowie State
continued their festivities for
homecoming the highly expected
game versus Virginia State was
finally here. The bulldogs started
off strong but could not finish as
the Trojans came and scored 17
unanswered points. It was a hard
fought game but ended in a
heartbreaking loss as the
bulldogs lost 24-14 to the Trojans
of Virginia State.
Every single performer that came
out made the students jump with
excitement. The energy that these
performers brought out to the
stage was amazing. This was only
the beginning of where the real
fun of homecoming began.
