Four kilometers
of road is rough
but passable
due to 2009
Earthquake.
When you leave the town of Fortuna, proceed 8 kilometers towards the town of El Tanque. Make a
left turn at the first intersection across from the hardware store. Continue on this road for about 3
kilometers. After you pass a little bridge make a right turn at the first intersection towards the town
of Muelle. Stay on this road for about 20 kilometers until you come to an intersection with a gas
station on your left hand side. Continue straight on the same road for about 13 kilometers until you
reach another intersection with a field of palm trees on the left. Make a right and drive about 6
kilometers to a dead end intersection. Make a right and drive for about 6 kilometers to the town of
Aguas Zarcas. At the stop sign you will see a church across the street, make a left turn towards
Venecia. Before you enter Venecia, at the blinking light bear left and go through the town of Rio
Cuarto towards San Miguel. When you get to San Miguel, take your first right at the police station.
Proceed up the mountain for about 20 minutes and the road will turn into a gravel road that is being
repaired from the 2009 Earthquake. The last 4 kilometers of road will be rough gravel but passable.
You will see the La Paz Waterfall on your right as you go over the bridge on your way up the hill. The
Peace Lodge is 1/2 a kilometer ahead on your right.
