QUALITY MANAGER
Haygrove, a world leader in fruit growing and field scale Polytunnels, horticultural machinery
and crop growing systems are seeking a Quality Manager to join their rapidly expanding
business based in Ledbury, Herefordshire.

THE ROLE
Haygrove grow conventional and organic fruit,
which includes strawberries, raspberries, cherries,
blackberries and blueberries under polythene tunnels
to supply the leading UK, African and European
retailers. In the season Haygrove Growing employs
up to 1100 seasonal and 100 full time staff to run the
175 hectares UK farms and harvest approximately
4000 tonnes of berries. We also farm 191 hectares in
South Africa and 68 hectares in Portugal.
Energetically and efficiently lead and manage the
quality function and quality across the £20m UK
growing business.
Making a step change in all
aspects of quality performance through building an
effective end to end quality process and building a
culture of quality and customer focus (internal and
external). Influence peer group to increase the voice
of quality within the business. Ensure that Haygrove
is seen as world class. Ensure that the right levels
of quality are maintained at the right cost – ensure
a balanced approach with reputation and quality as
the primary objective and cost as a very close second.
Ensure quality is not perceived as just sorting out
defects, it is also proactively “engineering” in good
quality throughout the process.
YOU
Reporting to the Operations Director you will be an
experienced food industry quality professional with
at least 5 years experience.Proven experience of
managing quality within a reasonable sized business
operating on exceedingly tight timescales and fast
paced decision making. Soft fruit experience is ideal.
You will have demonstrable ability of developing
and delivering strategies and quality processes.
Confident in dealing with others, able to influence
across the business and engender change. You will
be able to demonstrate balancing quality as a priority
with delivery and cost to ensure optimised result.
Effectively lead and motivate teams to achieve great
results.
