Dedication:
To my little buddy Jaden,
You used to fit in my palms. Now you’re deadlifting with me
(even though you’re still young enough for piggy-back rides).
I’ve loved watching you grow up. I look forward to lots more
fun together!

Ages ago, people were bad.
Like a good father, the Lord became sad.
Why had the people been acting that way?
Temptation and evil had led them astray.
One man behaved the way people should;
With sin all around him, Noah stayed good.
He wouldn’t cause trouble; his faith was too strong.
He always did right when others did wrong!

They’d build the ark new and three levels high.
The ark was a boat, and it’d keep them all dry.
Why did they need it? Soon it’d be plain,
Since floods would be coming, and coming with rain!
They knew it’d be raining for forty straight nights;
Towns would get flooded and vanish from sight.
As night turned to morning, it’d keep raining more;
For forty straight days, the rain would just pour!
With rain on the way, they cut down some trees.
They hammered, and sawed, and were busy as bees.
The job wasn’t easy, but all of them knew
Whatever God said would surely be true.
They worked for the Lord, and He’d keep them okay.
Like good little children, they knew to obey.
They searched in the hills, and gathered up goats,
Then brought them to safety to ride in the boat.
They finished the boat but had more to do still;
Now they went searching to follow God’s will.
From goats, to bears, or whatever there were,
They got two of each: a him and a her.
