MILAN DESIGN WEEK 2015, FUORI SALONE HAPPENING: VEUVE CLICQUOT PONSARDIN HAS CHOSEN ITALIAN SIRCA S.P.A. TO PAINT THE VEUVE CLICQUOT TOWER, METALLIC INSTALLATION BY ARCHITECT LUCA TRAZZI _____________________________________ Special event at Milano Design Week 2015’s Fuori Salone: Classic and prestigious champagne brand Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin has chosen SIRCA S.P.A. to cover with its peculiar yellow color the VEUVE CLICQUOT TOWER , a time capsule taking place in the XV Century honour courtyard at Milan’s University, among the structures placed for ENERGY FOR CREATIVITY Exposition of INTERNI Magazine The VEUVE CLICQUOT TOWER will symbolise for six weeks , from April 13th til May 24th, the timeless and exclusive art-de-vivre of Veuve Clicquot. The VEUVE CLICQUOT TOWER is a structure designed by architect Luca Trazzi, who construes and freely reinvents the famous Veuve Clicquot bottle design. This peculiar designed opera is composed by calendered steel elements sustaining the dome: the frames are realised with metallic rods wrapping the space while playing with a system of transparency. The VEUVE CLICQUOT TOWER creates a dialoque between ancient and moderns style, perfectly fittig both the Velasca Tower designed by B.B.P.R. and the Filarete’s XVII Century colonnade. The peculiar Clicquot yellow colour, the tower will be covered with, has been created to SIRCA S.P.A.’s know how. Since 40 years from now, SIRCA S.P.A. identifies high efficiency solutions for industrial paints, wooden and metal varnishing as well, in Italy and worldwide. Every varnish used to cover inside and outside the VEUVE CLICQUOT TOWER has been specifically studied to resist to heavy weather. Aesthetic result is also extremely important: that’s why Sirca’s Polistuc Division for steel paintings recreated in its laboratories the famous Clicquot yellow colour and the special Silver Satin effect, a brandnew Polistuc’s metal painting product, both used to cover the steel dome, the headlights and the main table of the tower. The wooden parquet located inside the structure will be painted as well with a special acrilic Sirca’s product. The VEUVE CLICQUOT TOWER is a tribute to the Maison tradition and the innovative spirit of Madame Clicquot, the champagne’s Grande Dame, an emancipated and farsighted woman who, in 1814, dared to bravely challenge the continental blockade, succeeding in exporting her wines to Saint Petersburg, and obtaining the glorious success of Clicquot winery. “Once again, Milan Fashion Week let us completely express the elegant and ‘fizzy’ Veuve CLicquot identity” says Francesca Terragni, Veuve Clicquot Italian Brand Director. “VEUVE CLICQUOT TOWER celebrates the tradition and the historical heritage of the Maison and expresses the vision of an innovative woman, such as Madame Clicquot, and her motto: “one only quality, the best”.
