People send the strangest things - but this one takes the cake (or
pie) so far!!
When a Christchurch couple answered a call from their son, who is living and working in
Melbourne, for an urgent package to be sent over, they were taken by surprise at the unusual
request.
Six meat pies, packed, sitting in a poly-bin
surrounded by ice slicker pads were delivered to PACK & SEND Riccarton with strict
instructions to send these immediately to Melbourne.
According to the couple, their son had a particular favourite brand of Steak and Cheese pie
which he could not "sauce" in Australia, hence the mercy mission.
"This is probably the most unusual request that I have had, and we send some strange stuff
around the country and around the world" said Andrew Johnson, Store Manager at PACK &
SEND
Riccarton.

The precious consignment was delivered to the son's workplace the next day by PACK &
SEND's
Inter
national Express Courier service
.
We're not too sure if the son chose to share the pies with his work colleagues or if they were
quick moved to the freezer for future enjoyment.
