Bacteriological Media Catalog

M
OLTOX® is the world’s leading manufacturer of prepared Minimal
Glucose Agars for use in the Salmonella mutagenicity assay
(Ames Assay) and observes the highest standards in the production
and packaging of prepared media. MOLTOX® prepared bacteriological
media includes nutrient, selective and enrichment media used in industrial,
environmental and molecular microbiology.
MOLTOX® media are manufactured
with the best materials:
• A.C.S. “Certified” or better chemicals
are employed. Impurities in
commodity grade material can effect
the performance of many media.
• Petri dishes are highest quality
polystyrene. Dishes stack well and
exhibit excellent optical clarity and
dimensional uniformity.
• Only Type II borosilicate glass, PETG,
natural polypropylene or polycarbonate
containers with PTFE or white rubber
closure liners are used. All containers
are noncontaminating.
• Solid media are formulated with
industry standard Difco (BBL)
Bacto and BD Agars.
The MOLTOX® production facility
is equipped with modern
manufacturing equipment including:
• O
n-Line Engineering™ plate
pouring machines
• Systec™ media preparators
• Automated liquid pumping
assemblies
MOLTOX® will manufacture media
formulated and packaged to your
specifications. Please contact us if you
need media with non-standard sugars,
special salts or buffers, mixtures of
antibiotics, chemically defined amino
acid compositions or a particular
compound of interest. We will be happy
to supply you with a quote corresponding
to your Custom Media requirement.
• Each lot of media is tested for sterility
and its ability to support the growth
of the appropriate microorganism.
• All media are accompanied
by GLP-compliant formulation
and QC certificates.
