interpack 2017: ACTEGA Arena for Packaging Solutions

ACTEGA is again presenting many innovative solutions for packaging
companies at the leading interpack tradeshow in 2017
Grevenbroich, April 27, 2017 – “Arena for Packaging Solutions“ – under this
slogan ACTEGA is presenting its latest innovative solutions at the world’s leading
packaging tradeshow interpack in Düsseldorf. The five core themes in 2017 are
laminating adhesives, water-based protective coatings, heat-seal systems for peeloff ends, printing inks for portion packs and direct food contact, and secondgeneration adhesives for closures.
High-quality colored laminating adhesives
The ACTEGA colored adhesives combine decorative appearance with functional
performance. As a result, the colored adhesives conserve printing inks and
eliminate one work step during packaging manufacture. The competence of
ACTEGA for pigmented product solutions adds unique features to the range of
high-performance laminating adhesives.
Water-based protective coatings
The ACTEGA portfolio also includes water-based retort-resistant protection
coatings (e.g. for the outer side of pet-food lids). These are available as clear-coat
(enhancing the gloss of the aluminum) or colored (e.g. gold). The heat-press
resistance is up to 300° C (depending on the stoving conditions).
The performance plus: heat-seal systems for peel-off ends
ACTEGA is presenting two new systems with outstanding performance. ACTEseal®
HM-073-M has been developed especially to seal aluminum lids (especially for dry
fillings) against uncoated tinplate, while ACTEseal ® HS-800-F8 is the right choice for
coated tinplate. For an optimum system, ACTEGA recommends the combination of
ACTEcoat ® SL-400-1 for tinplate and ACTEseal ® HS-800-F8 for the membrane.
Safe food thanks to a new color series
ACTEGA has added a new color series to its pigmented product solutions portfolio,
which is - due to the use of FDA-listed raw materials - suitable for direct food contact.
The colors can also be processed on conventional printing lines (flexographic printing
presses). The printing inks are suitable for portion packs.
Environmentally friendlier adhesion lacquers (TPE lacquers) for closures
The second generation of TPE coatings from ACTEGA is BPA-NI, PVC, and
melamine-free. It is a two-layer coating system with the pigmented size coat
ACTEbond® TPE-515-MF and the adhesive top coat ACTEbond® TPE-650-MF.

ACTEbond TPE-515-MF shows excellent chemical resistance to various types of
fillings and is also suitable for filling products containing acids or sulfur.
ACTEbond® TPE-650-MF has a broad application window in combination with
excellent compound adhesion and can be processed on several types of
compound-lining machines.

ACTEGA and ACTEGA Terra, ACTEGA DS, and ACTEGA Rhenania are presenting
their products at the usual site at interpack in Düsseldorf in Hall 11, Stand A12 from
May 4 – 10, 2017.
In addition, ACTEGA is represented at METPACK (Hall 3.0 / 3B53) in Essen from May
2 – 6, 2017.
