History: Science: Who were the Tudors? Find out about important / significant people and events in Tudor times. • To place Tudors on a timeline and identify key events in Tudor times (Henry VII, Henry VIII, Edward VI, Mary I, Elizabeth I, Sinking of the Mary Rose, Spanish Armada). • To compare daily life for Tudors - rich / poor (clothing, houses, foods). • To produce a booklet / leaflet to summarise life in Tudor times. • To research Henry VIII and wives – prepare a fact-file about the wives and make a poster about one of the wives. • Tudor Christmas – to explore and research a Tudor Christmas, contrast to Christmas now (meal, gifts, Christmas cards, carols, Trees, celebrations / entertainment). To write dialogue, focus on punctuating speech. Write a short story including dialogue based on Tudor topic. • To contrast playscripts with dialogue, identify features of playscripts then write a play. Explore what affects the direction the compass points in (another magnet etc). To explore magnetic and non-magnetic materials and define the word magnet. To investigate springs, link to forces produced and stored.
