SHARED DIGITAL RESOURCES @ LIBRARIES ACROSS TEXAS
What areTexShare and TexQuest?
TexShare and TexQuest are programs that allow libraries
across the state to share resources. Administered by the
Texas State Library and Archives Commission, these
programs offer several services, including the wellknown e-resource and database program.
 Through TexShare, public libraries and
college/university libraries benefit from costeffective access to a broad array of online journals,
reports, market information, learning materials, and
many other resources.
 TexQuest provides similar resources for the K-12
community to the state’s public schools.

Unmet Needs
While both programs provide a strong core of basic
resources, libraries are struggling to keep up with
increased populations and the demand for additional
types of materials, particularly in the following areas.
1. STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts,
and Math) resources
2. Digital language learning (resources for selfpaced 24/7 tools to allow Texas to communicate,
compete, and conduct commerce globally)
3. Interactive and streaming resources to enhance
remote learning and support diverse learning
styles
