In 1876 Alexander Graham Bell invented the first telephone.
In 1877 Bell Telephone was created and became the first telephone business.

In 1973 Martin Cooper invented the first portable phone, a Motorola, and make a
phone call.
In 1977 they starting testing cell phones in Chicago with 2000 people.
In 1988 the Cellular Technology Industry Association (CTIA) was created to make
guidelines for cell phone. Today there are more than 60 million people using cell
phones.

In 1935 Willy Muller invented the world's first automatic answering machine
which was a three-foot-tall machine.
In 1960 Hashimoto created the Ansafone. It was the first answering machine
sold in America.
In 1971 Phonemate started selling the first answering machines for everyone. It
weighed 10 pounds and stored 20 messages on a reel-to-reel tape.

In 1923 Zworykin invented the first television idea.
In 1939 RCA sold the first TVs and the World’s Fair. The company also started
broadcasting TV programs. The first program people saw was a a parade
marching with New York City’s Mayor. He looked directly into the camera.
President Franklin Roosevelt was the first president to be on TV. He was also at
the World’s Fair parade.

In 1940 CBS invented a mechanical color television system.
In 1950 CBS started to broadcast in color on 5 TV stations.
In 1972 color TVs finally sold more than black and white TVs.
What would it be like to watch TV in black and white? I think it would be bad

In 1940 (Community Antenna Television or CATV), was invented because Mr.
Walson had a hard time selling TVs because people in the mountains couldn’t get
a signal. He solved his problem by putting an antenna on top of a large utility pole
on the top of a mountain near the town.
In 1972 offered Home Box Office or HBO which was the first successful pay cable
service in the U.S. They used a satellite in space to send the signals.
How would it be if you didn’t have cable TV? It would not be fun because you
would not get a lot of shows.

communicate with each other. This was called the Internetting project and it was
shortened to the "Internet.”
The Internet started as a tool to help colleges and government agencies to
