Module 2/lesson 10
Correct homework
Opening exercise:
200 x 32.6 = 500 x 22.12
Question: What does it mean when you have to “distribute” papers. Explain.
Distributive property law The distributive property lets you multiply a sum by multiplying each addend separately and then add the products.
a (b + c) = ab + ac
Example 1:
Partial product is a method of doing multiplication in math. Besides breaking down the multiplication process into parts, another focus of partial product method is to write the number into its place values. All numbers (with the exception of the number in the one value) will end in zero – which makes multiplication easier and faster. Louis is climbing steps to the top of a monument. After climbing 15 steps, Louis stops to tie his shoe. If there is a total of 75 steps on the monument, what percent of the total number of steps has Louis climbed when he stops to tie his shoe?
