Calgary Dollars is a project of the Arusha Centre, a non-‐profit organization whose mission is to “inspire and support communities to connect, gather, and create a socially, economically, and environmental just future”. Calgary Dollars is a complementary currency initiative that strengthens the local economy, reduces poverty and enhances social inclusion. CORE COMPETENCIES: • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills • Strong community development background, with commitment to community economic development • Experience co-‐ordinating events • Experience in project development, coordination & evaluation • Experience in program accountability measures, data management, outcomes measurement & reporting • Experience with FCSS outcome measures would be an asset • Proven ability to recruit, motivate and co-‐ordinate volunteers • Competence with the following programs would be an asset: Excel, FCSS FSII database, Fluid Surveys, Constant Contact, Wordpress • Experience with desktop publishing, preferably expertise with In Design (or comparable program) and poster / media design • Pro-‐active self-‐starter able to work independently with a minimum of supervision • Awareness of local economic/social issues, and of the role C$ can play in addressing them • Understanding of the history, mission and philosophy of Calgary Dollars and the Arusha Centre • Vehicle access preferred but not required RESPONSIBILITIES: • Organize & coordinate C$ Markets and ReLocalize Fairs (in collaboration with other organisations) • Membership development & coordination, including online listings site administration • Community outreach • Marketing (promotions, poster & media design, website, mass e-‐mail, e-‐news, blog, Facebook, Twitter) • Program evaluation, including survey administration & analysis, data management, phone calls, • Funder relationships & reporting • Project financial management • Management/supervision of practicum students & volunteers • Arusha Centre staff collective member with shared administrative & operations duties Please send resume with cover letter to [email protected] or drop off at #106, 223 -‐12th Avenue SW For information call 403-‐270-‐3200 Only candidates to be interviewed will be contacted; posting will remain open until a suitable candidate is found The image cannot be displayed.
