Deese, LPC What made you decide to join the Chamber? My husband and I have lived in Clinton for over 7 years and love it. I am really excited that Crossroads has expanded to open a location here, and my hopes are that the Chamber will give me an opportunity to invest even more in the community. I look forward to building relationships through the Chamber and learning how Crossroads can meet the needs of the people of Clinton. What is your favorite part of the business? Getting to walk alongside people as they change and grow. I feel like it is such a privilege to be part of their “stories” and to get to sit in on their lives for a short time- often at times when big decisions are made that influence the rest of their lives. Of what business accomplishments are you most proud? I could say the clientload that I have built through Crossroads and the fact that we have grown enough to open a third location, but really, with counseling, it is difficult to quantify success. Each client’s situation is different, and what makes me most proud is when a previous client contacts me to let me know how they are doing. It’s not just that they are doing well that makes me proud- but that they value the Seen at Clinton Night at the M-Braves Bronze $1,000 - $1,499 ADP Atmos Energy Gulf States Canners McNeely Plastics Merchants & Planters Bank Regions Bank Wal-Mart Supercenter professional relationship we built during our sessions - and they want me to know the positive goals they’ve met. What are your future goals or longrange plans? Personally, as a counselor, my goal is to continue to provide a safe environment for the hurting and a place where they can set goals and move toward positive change and healing.
