Groveland Newsletter
May & June 2017
Note from Jeremy Johnson, Site Supervisor
What an incredible journey it’s been! We’ve truly experienced each of the seven continents and find
ourselves travelling to the depths of the oceans for our final month and change. I know I don’t speak for
myself when I say that it’s been so great to get to know each of the students and families that spend time
with us before and after school. I wish you each a happy and healthy summer and look forward to seeing
many of you again over the summer and in the fall!
Note from Susie Gillespie, Explorers Club Manager

We are also looking forward to a summer filled with fun and entertaining activities as we take a Road Trip
Across America. Summer registration’s deadline is May 10. Thank you again for a wonderful 2016 - 17!

5 minutes (or portion thereof) after 6 p.m.

Bring ID: It is our policy to ask for picture ID to any adult picking up the children. This is a safety

Where to Drop Off And Pick Up
If your child is attending before school Explorers Club,
you will drop them off in the Tile Floor Gym where you

Our Tracking System
Each group will have a board with student names by
grade. There will be a slot next to each student’s
name where they’ll change a magnet with the
choice they make so parents can see where they
are. Each staff member will then have a magnetic
board with names of the kids they have with them.

Late Policy
All children must be picked up no later than 6 p.m. If an emergency delays you and you are going to be late picking
up your child, make plans for someone authorized on your Alternate Pick Up form to pick up your child on time, and
call the program staff immediately. In the event that your child is still at the program after closing and we have not
heard from you, we will take the following steps (in order):
1. Attempt to reach you at home, cell, and/or work.
2. Call the people you listed as authorized to pick up your child.
3. If you are more than 30 minutes late, the police will be
contacted for assistance.
After the third instance, childcare services may be suspended or terminated.
