Coalition of Jewish Teens Constitutional Committee Global Networking Committee 1 The Grand Aleph Godol and the International N’siah, from time to time, will establish special committees to conduct business on behalf of the International Order. As the Executive Chairs of the movement, they are able to empower representatives for AZA and BBG to tackle specialty projects or serve as ambassadors for our organization to the broader Jewish community and beyond. This fall, Sam and Amanda, as Godol and N’siah, will call upon a diverse group of Alephs and BBGs to serve in two capacities. Candidates will be selected without favoritism, based on geography, age, leadership experience, availability and other considerations. If you have unique interest in these areas, please e-mail Sam and Amanda at [email protected] and [email protected] as well as [email protected] to let us know. We will not be able to accommodate everyone, but appreciate your willingness to serve. No existing position is required as criteria. Coalition of Jewish Teens Everything we do in AZA and BBG is focused on ensuring a stronger Jewish future. We are not the only network dedicated to this cause, and to achieve our wildest dreams and our farthest-reaching goals, we need the partnership of our peers across the entire Jewish community. We are seeking Alephs and B’nai B’rith Girls who are eager to work with leaders from the other Jewish youth movements to create a stronger Jewish future together. The goal of the CJT is to show the tenacity and vibrancy of the Jewish youth community, unite around common causes, help strengthen Jewish teen life universally, take action on behalf of the Jewish people, make a difference in the broader global community and ensure that the future we’re building is bright. Some additional travel and retreats will be necessary to be a part of this role. All expenses would be covered, but schedule flexibility is a must. The AZA and BBG Constitutional Democracy Committee BBYO’s experiential democratic nature is one of our most defining pillars as a global teen-led movement. How we conduct business, make decisions, survey the opinions and voices of our membership, pass legislation and manage our chapters, councils, regions and the International Order guarantees order, fairness and a life-long learning experience for all that choose to embrace our systems and traditions. Every few years, our constitutions and governance policies need to be updated to reflect the movement’s evolution. We are looking for Alephs and BBGs who are interested in working together to update the documents that are at the foundation of our Order’s democracy in time to unveil at International Convention 2015 in Atlanta, Georgia. 2 The Global Networking Committee will be comprised of Jewish teens from all around the world, working to build a forum in which the members of every Jewish community where BBYO has a presence or a partner can learn from each other about one another’s communities and youth leadership programs, work with one another on joint projects, advance movement-wide initiatives around the world, and unite, when necessary or opportunistic, on global Jewish issues. Many members view BBYO as a North American organization that supports communities around the world, rather than one, unified network in which every community holds equal standing. The efforts of the GNC will result in a sense of equality between all of our BBYO and partner communities. Applicants for the GNC should have a passion in one or more of the leadership foci of BBYO (programming, community service, Judaic enrichment, fundraising, and recruitment). We will utilize every committee members’ fortes to strengthen our communities in those facets, while learning and growing through our experiences together. The members of the GNC will: Execute Global Networking Teens (GNT) calls throughout the year Produce resources, releases, and programs that will allow chapters and regions to experience, understand, and support globalization Manage regional and chapter partnerships Educate other members about our global movement Fundraise for and promote easy, powerful ways that Alephs and BBGs across the Order can support the International Service Fund (ISF) Gain important leadership skills Work together on joint projects or movement-wide initiatives Discuss, support one another through, or take action on global Jewish issues Create meaningful, lasting ties between teens across dozens of communities around the world Through these responsibilities, the members of the GNC will contribute to the globalization of our movement and the unification of our international community. Ultimately, no matter if you’re from San Francisco or Serbia, serving on the GNC will transform you into a more knowledgeable member of our global Jewish community, and will challenge you with the task of sharing our global movement with your local community. 3 A completed application should be emailed by Sunday, September 21, 2014 at 11:59 PM, local time to [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected].
