Greetings Visiting Parents:
Here is some information and updates to help make your 2016 South Carolina Short Course State Championships
meet a little bit easier.
CHANGE in Start Times for 10&U TIMED FINALS:

Sunday and Monday warm-up not before 12:30 pm, competition not before 1:15 pm
The facility doors will open at 6:45 each morning. Spectators should enter and exit through the main entrance.
Swimmers and coaches may enter through the side entrance, located near the swimmer drop off which will be
clearly marked in the parking lot. You are encouraged to drop your swimmer(s) off and then go park. ***Parents
will not be allowed to use this entrance.***
Spectator seating will be in the bleachers at the turn end of the pool. Bleachers on the sides and starting block
side of the pool are reserved for swimmers only. Please do not stand in front of the bleachers against the white
chain during the competition and block the view of those behind you. If you wish to take a picture or video of your
swimmer in action please keep your time in front of others as brief and as unobtrusive as possible. Marshals will
monitor this. Handicap seating areas will be available on the bottom row and at each end of the large bleachers
and clearly marked.
Facility Rules
 No folding chairs or bleacher seatbacks


No coolers
No reserving seats between sessions
Parking: The lot immediately adjacent to the pool is reserved parking for coaches, officials, and TG meet personnel.
A parking attendant will be stationed at the entrance and only coaches and officials dressed to work with credentials
will be allowed access, volunteers must present parking pass, coaches and officials dressed to work must present
their credentials, no exceptions.
 Parking on the ball fields or across the street at the church is prohibited. Cars parked in unauthorized
areas or blocking fire hydrants will be towed at the owner’s expense.
 No RV overnight parking is permitted
 When the sheriff’s office is directing traffic out of the parking lot on to SC 253 they may require everyone to
turn right and not allow left turns to allow traffic on the road to continue to flow.
Concessions will be located to your right as you enter the competition pool.
Meet T-Shirts will be located near the swimmer entrance at the end of Pool B.
Heat Sheets will be located at concessions.
Meet Results will be posted in the hallway outside the entrances to the girls and boys locker rooms. We will also

Finals


Top 10 qualifiers should assemble next to the 5 lane therapy pool.
The top qualifier will be allowed to choose his/her preferred music, but if deemed inappropriate, an
alternate song will be played. Play lists should be turned in before the end of prelims.
Awards Presentations



An awards podium will be situated behind the competition pool. The athlete's name will be announced
and a mock medal will be presented for picture taking purposes only. Pictures will need to be taken from
ACROSS the pool. No parents are allowed in this area. There will be a meet photographer taking all
podium shots and these will be made available after the meet to your coach via a link free of charge for
your convenience.
Afternoon session Saturday, Sunday, Monday - 10 & Under Timed Finals - a 10 minute break will occur
after each boys event to allow for presentation of awards to the top three finishers.
Immediately after each finals event as soon as the results are verified the top three finishers will be
announced and presented.
Relays for the 11-12, 13-14, and 15-18 groups will be swum during finals.
Timers from the visiting teams are requested to help us run a quality meet for everyone. WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Timers should check-in at the volunteer table just inside the main entrance to the aquatic complex for their
wristband. Come on down and get the best seat in the house, enjoy free refreshments, and be of service to our
great sport!
Lost & Found during each session will be located in the therapy pool. After the day ends lost and found will be
gathered and then located behind the front desk.
For First Aid see any lifeguard or go to the front desk for a band-aid.
Bathrooms off the pool deck are not changing rooms and will be marshaled as such. Please direct your swimmers
to the locker rooms accessible from the therapy pool and main building hallway if they need to change. Doors from
the pool deck to these bathrooms will be locked during the meet and entry will only be from the hallway outside the
doors to the competition pool.
Augusta Swim Supply will be set-up at the end of Pool B near the swimmer entrance for swimmers and parents
that need to purchase swimming gear.
