General Conversion
Instructions for 5 in. (127 mm)
and 6 in. (150 mm) ROS’s.
WARNING: For Safety only use 5 in. (127 mm) Pads on the 5 in. (127 mm) ROS’s and 6 in. (150 mm) Pads on 6 in.
(150 mm) ROS’s for which they were intended.
NOTE: Pads are not included with kits. They must be ordered separately.
CAUTION: When working on or converting any machine first do the following:
1. For safe conversion, shut off the air supply and disconnect it from the tool.
2. Remove the Pad with a 24 mm Pad Wrench then remove the current Shroud and/or existing vacuum parts from the
Sander Housing.
NOTE: Keep the original parts not used for the conversion in a safe place so the machine can be converted back later.
3. Move on to the corresponding section of the conversion kit that applies.
Converting 5/6 in. (127/150 mm) NV Machines to CV Shrouded Machines
General Assembly Instructions to convert to 5/6 in. (127/150 mm) NV Machines to
5/6 in. (127/150 mm) CV Shrouded Machines:
1. Install the Shroud onto the Sander Housing. Make sure the line up slots and tabs are engaged.
2. Slide the inlet end of the CV Swivel Exhaust Assembly into the exhaust port of the Shroud until it hits the stop on the
CV Swivel Exhaust Assembly. Make sure the key on the CV Swivel Exhaust Assembly bracket is aligned and engaged
with the keyway on the Sander Housing.
3. Secure the CV Swivel Exhaust Assembly to the Sander Housing using M5 Flanged Nut, M5 Flat washer and the
Screw. Torque to 30-35 in/lbs (3.4-3.9 Nm) Do not over torque the screw).
4. Screw the vacuum style Pad onto the Machine (pads not included in kits).
5. Grasp the Female Swivel Fitting on the CV Swivel Exhaust Assembly and turn the fitting to thread the male end of a
standard 1 in. (28 mm) flexible vacuum hose into the swivel until the hose is tight.

Converting 5/6 in. (127/150 mm) NV to SGV Shrouded Machines
Additional Disassembly Instructions for Converting 5/6 in. (127/150 mm) NV Machines to SGV Shrouded Machines.
1. Remove the Muffler Housing Assembly with a 21 mm socket or adjustable wrench.
2. Keep the original parts not used for the conversion in a safe place so the machine can be converted back later.
General Assembly Instructions to convert 5/6 in. (127/150 mm) NV or CV Machines to 5/6 in. (127/150 mm) SGV
Shrouded Machines:
1. Install the Vacuum Shroud onto the Sander Housing. Make sure the line up slots and tabs are engaged.
2. Slide the SGV Shroud Exhaust Adapter Fitting into the exhaust of the Vacuum Shroud.
3. Lightly grease the two O-rings and place them in the grooves of the 12,000 RPM SGV Retainer.
4. Slide the SGV Retainer into the SGV Swivel Exhaust Assembly as shown in the Figure.
5. Apply a small amount of a non-permanent pipe thread sealant to the threads of the SGV Retainer.
6. Slide the Swivel Exhaust Assembly onto the SGV Shroud Exhaust Adapter Fitting while at the same time inserting the
SGV Retainer into the Sander Housing exhaust port.
7. Screw the Assembly into the Sander Housing. Insure all parts are properly aligned and torque the SGV Retainer Assembly to 36-48 in-lbs (4.1-5.4 N-m).
8. Grasp the female Swivel Fitting on the SGV Exhaust Assembly and turn the fitting to thread the male end of the
Vacuum Hose into the Swivel Fitting until the hose is tight.
9. Place a small amount of a non-permanent pipe thread sealant to the threads of the male end of the ¼” Air Line fitting
on the Vacuum Hose Assembly and thread it into the inlet port of the Sander Housing. Use a 19 mm wrench to hold
the inlet port Bushing and torque the Air Line fitting to 80-100 in/lbs (9.0-11.3 Nm).
10. Open the Vacuum Bag and turn it partially inside out to expose the Vacuum Bag Fitting neck hole and strap area. Remove the Vacuum Bag Fitting from the end of the Vacuum Hose Assembly. Slip the Vacuum Bag neck opening over
the neck of the Vacuum Bag Fitting. Secure the Vacuum Bag to the Vacuum Bag Fitting with the hook and loop strap
by wrapping it around the groove in the Vacuum Bag Fitting. Turn the Vacuum Bag right side out and attach a disposable Vacuum Bag Insert over the Vacuum Bag Fitting and close the Vacuum Bag. Thread the end of the Vacuum
Hose Assembly into the Vacuum Bag Fitting.
11. Screw the vacuum style Pad onto the Machine (pads not included in kits).
