Alliance Bipartisan Board Adds Congressmen, Business Leaders
Washington, D.C., February 28, 2013 – The Alliance to Save Energy Board of Directors voted to
add five energy efficiency allies to the Alliance leadership.
The Alliance new honorary vice chairs include the chair of the Senate Energy and Natural
Resources Committee, a two-term Republican House member and a four-term House Democrat.
Two private-sector seasoned energy executives were also unanimously approved to serve on the
board.

Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.)
Rep. Peter Welch (D-Vt.)
Paul Camuti, Senior Vice President of Innovation and Chief Technology Officer, Ingersoll Rand
Rose McKinney-James, owner, Energy Works Consulting, and McKinney-James & Associates
“The new members of the Board place the Alliance in an even stronger position to advance energy
efficiency and the Alliance’s Energy 2030 plan, which aims to double U.S. energy productivity by
2030,” said Alliance to Save Energy President Kateri Callahan.
Sen. Ron Wyden
Sen. Ron Wyden has served Oregon in the U.S. Congress for more than 28 years. 15
years as a member of the House of Representatives and since 1996 in the U.S. Senate.
He is a member of the U.S Senate Committees on Finance, Budget and Energy and
Natural Resources as well as the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and the Senate
Special Committee on Aging.
“I am proud to join some of the best minds in the energy efficiency business as an honorary vice-chair of
the Alliance to Save Energy’s Board of Directors,” said Sen. Wyden. “Energy efficiency is a practical, costeffective way to move the U.S. toward a low-carbon economy. I’m looking forward to working with my
fellow board members and Senators to advance the Alliance’s goals.”
Rep. Adam Kinzinger
Rep. Adam Kinzinger has represented the 16th Congressional District of Illinois since
January 2011. He serves on the Energy & Commerce and Foreign Affairs committees.
After being sworn into office, he joined the House Majority Transition Team and was
included in Time Magazine’s “Rising Stars in American Politics.”
“For thirty-five years the Alliance to Save Energy has served as a catalyst for energy efficiency initiatives
around the globe,” said Rep. Kinzinger. “I'm honored to join this group of problem solvers in promoting
energy efficiency in the US and around the globe.”
He added, “Working together, we will strengthen U.S. national security, increase our global
competitiveness and lower the cost of energy for Americans.”
Rep. Peter Welch
Rep. Peter Welch was elected to represent the people of Vermont in 2006. In 2011,
Welch was appointed as Chief Deputy Whip of the House Democratic Caucus, and
currently serves on the Agriculture, and Oversight and Government Reform committees.
Rep. Welch has proven to be friend of energy efficiency, as he created a national model
that led to the Retrofit for Energy and Environmental Performance (REEP) program. REEP was
incorporated into American’s Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009.
“The Alliance to Save Energy is a leading voice in the effort to build a healthier, cleaner, and
stronger economy,” said Rep. Welch. “I am honored to join the Alliance’s Board of Directors and
look forward to working with its leaders and members to rally the support we’ll need to advance
sensible energy policies that create jobs, cut energy bills, and improve the environment.”
Paul Camuti
Paul Camuti has worked closely with the energy sector since being named Senior Vice
President, and Innovations and Chief Technology Officer for Ingersoll Rand in 2011.
Prior to that, he spent over 16 years with Siemens Corporation where he served most
recently as President of Smart Grid Applications for Siemens Energy Inc., focusing on
the development and delivery of Smart Grid products, services, and solutions across the
entire energy conversion chain.
“I am honored to serve in this board capacity, and look forward to helping the Alliance to Save Energy to
deliver on their mission of advancing energy efficiency in order to enhance the nation’s productivity,
competiveness and position as a global leader in energy innovation,” said Camuti.
Rose McKinney-James
Rose McKinney-James has been the owner of Energy Works Consulting since 2003 and
McKinney-James & Associates since 2005, both located in Las Vegas, Nevada. Both
firms focus on public affairs in the areas of energy, education, and environmental
policy. Prior to creating Energy Works Consulting in 2003, McKinney-James was
President and Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation for Solar Technologies and
Renewable Resources from 1995 to 2000. McKinney-James is a former Commissioner with the Nevada
Public Service Commission and also served as the Director of the Nevada Department of Business and
Industry.
