It is the tradition in our club for members to recognise people we meet regularly in our business lives or the wider community who give exemplary service. These people display outstanding qualities in their approach to their job, and dedication and commitment in their workplace. In short, they go the extra mile. By nominating someone for an award a High-Rise member believes the person worthy of public recognition by the club and we acknowledge the contribution each person makes in their workplace and also the value they add to community. 30 May - 3 Brisbane Rotary Art Spectacular June (CP One, Brisbane) INTERNATIONAL TOAST This week we toast the Rotary Club of Siena, located at NH Hotel Excelsior Piazza La Lizza 1, Siena, 53100, Italy. They meet on Thursdays at 8.00 pm. Some clubs prefer to make the awards competitive but there is a growing trend, and the one that I favour, to recognise each of the nominees on the basis that our members have determined this person’s service is exemplary and worthy of recognition. Our nominees for 2016 are: PROGRAM / GUEST SPEAKER ROSTER 3 Mar 10 Mar 17 Mar 24 Mar • Sue Mac - Travel Agent • Anna Dunlop - Barista • Stella Chaw - Hospitality • Miranda Jones - Hospitality • Peter de Jong - Real Estate and Arborist • Anthony Mitchell - Ferry Master • Helen Robin - Teacher Rosemary Meadows Chair Steve F Diana James G Sylvia Set Up Diana James G James G Sylvia Sylvia John K John K Steve K ATTENDANCE MEMBERS: 27 VISITING ROTARIANS: 0 GUESTS: 5 PERCENTAGE OF MEMBERS ATTENDED: 52% 3 Mar Rosemary Meadows, Pride of Workmanship Award 10 Mar Greg Pearson (Topic - Women in Rotary) Greeter Close down Sergeant Sylvia John K Steve K Deb John K Steve K Steve K Deb Deb John L John L Frank L Greg Russell Wendy Kit APOLOGIES / GUESTS and MAKEUPS DIRECT DEBIT ROTARY GRACE NOTIFY OUR CLUB BY 7.00 am TUESDAY PRIOR TO THAT WEEK’S MEETING AT: PREPAY FOR OUR MEETINGS, EVENTS, SUBSCRIPTIONS AT: O Lord and giver of all good, we thank you for our daily food.
