Driver Spotlight
James McDonald
James McDonald is a professional driver with Horndy Transportation going on 5 months. He has had his CDL license for about 9 years. James started out as a company driver in September and recently made the transition over to
lease to better himself as a driver.
He was born and raised in Troy, AL as well as Montana, Texas, and Florida. While attending High school in
Enterprise, AL, he decided to join Jr. ROTC. Wanting to follow in his dad’s footsteps, James enlisted into the
United States Army. At age 17, James let for basic and AIT Training. Upon graduating he enrolled to Airborne and RIP
schooling. Ater all of his training and schooling was over, he was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC as a 21B1P Combat
Engineer. Ater 6 years, James was discharged.
In 2010, James married his High school sweetheart, Brandi, and they are currently residing in New Brockton, AL.
Together, they have 4 children, Heather (Lettie), James David Jr. (Dade), James Ryan, and Daniel Rueban.
James enjoys spending time with his kids and ishing (if he can ever sneak away!).

driver macros
Please don’t forget, when you
input your trailer number into the macro
screen, it’s important that you double check
and make sure the number entered matches the
trailer number. Entering the wrong number
will result in possible delays for your next
load. Also, be sure to always double check the
length of your trailer for future loads.
A Message From Our Safety Department
Mrs. Debra
Allred
Be aware of when your DO T physical expires and remind your
driver managers so that you can be recertified at least 3 weeks
before your physical expires. Your self-certification information and
medical certificate should be provided to your state licensing agency
as soon as possible. Know your state procedures on how to provide
this information. The states require you to have this information
to them 1 to 10 days prior to expiration to ensure your record is
updated to ensure your license is not downgraded to a non CDL
class.
ATTENTION:
All bills of la ding a nd deliver y receipt s a re
required t o be mailed in t wice a week in
t he prepaid envelopes t ha t a re provided.
Your logs should be t urned in a t lea st once
a week.
