OCTOBER 4, 2015
One mile accessible walk through the
center of Stockton’s beautiful campus,
focusing on remembrance, support,
and prevention. All are welcome, this
is a free event open to the community.
The walk will end with a pledge to
prevent suicide, an open mic to share
experiences, and community speakers.
Participants are encouraged to bring
photos, names, mementos, of people
who completed suicide to place on our
remembrance wall at the beginning
of the walk.
Registration begins at 6 p.m.,

Official Rules:
• One entry per person
• Must be a form of 2-D visual art, no larger
than a poster board 28” X 22” (not excluding
photography, painting, drawing, etc.)

• Entries must be dropped off in J-204 by Friday,
October 2nd by 4 p.m.
• Include first and last name and e-mail address
and phone number attached to submission
• The Wellness Center reserves the right to use the
submissions during Suicide Prevention Week and
the images of the submissions for future events
• The winners will be notified, and non-winners
must pick up their artwork by Friday, October 9th
• Artist’s will provide digital image of the art work
to accompany the physical piece.
• Stockton students can vote for their favorite
between Monday, October 5th through
Wednesday, October 7th in person in E-Wing
between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., or via email.

she handled the situation.
• Facebook’s new features to support people
who make suicidal statements
• Depression/Suicide portrayal in fiction and
non-fiction Movies and TV shows
• The not so obvious faces of depression
• Pro-depression Tumblr sites as well as
Pro-recovery/wellness Tumblr sites.
• Use of Facebook and increased depression.
• A student’s experience with a social media fast
• Apps for recovery and wellness
• Discussion and reflection encouraged.

This course teaches participants how to recognize the
signs and symptoms of mental illness, provide support,
deescalate crisis, and if appropriate, refer individuals
to services. This highly interactive program employs scenarios
and activities to show how to respond in a variety of situations.
