Cheam Charter Fayre
On Saturday
18th May, a
group of Year 5
children went to
the Cheam
Charter Fair.
The girls
dressed up as
rich people
from a Tudor
court and
danced as the
Tudors may have danced. Keiron Davey and Sidney Bentley were the
town criers. The best part of the day was when we saw the Mayor of Cheam! We had our picture
taken with the Mayor outside Whitehall by the Sutton Guardian. We had a great morning.

We are delighted to announce the arrival of Kara
Grace Crossman who was born on 15th April. Kara is Mr
and Mrs Crossman’s first child.
On Thursday 9th May staff, children, parents and
Governors were invited to an
A very relaxing way to
start to the day! There
was a huge selection of items to choose from
including croissants, toast, cakes, banana and
strawberry smoothies, orange juice , tea and
coffee. Thank you to everyone who came and
made a success of the event. The total amount
raised was £159.00 which will go towards
buying plants and equipment to enhance our
school environment.
Year 5 Visit Hampton Court
Palace
Earlier this term, Year 5 enjoyed a great day out at
Hampton Court Palace. As we made our way
around the palace we saw actors taking on the roles
of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, so we stood and
watched them for a while. It was amusing how
they got children to join in!
After that we went to the Haunted Gallery. It is said that Catherine Howard, Henry’s fifth wife, is
meant to run down the gallery asking for mercy. It was scary as we walked down the gallery
knowing the myth.
During our visit, two of us were chosen to be dressed up as rich Tudors. Florence wore a beautiful
dress with a very heavy headdress and lots of accessories and Daniel wore red trousers with three
layers of clothing on his top. We all had a great time at Hampton Court.

Nursery --- news flash!
Nursery have been visiting the environmental area. We found
some frogs’ eggs in the pond and put them in a fish tank to see if
they hatched. Some of the eggs have hatched and we now have
TADPOLES! We are
looking after them
carefully. When they
need more water we get
some from the pond. The
tadpoles are getting bigger
and eating more!
Did you know their favourite food is bacon? We can't wait to
see our tadpoles grow legs and then they will be called
froglets....

Sutton Infant Music Festival
On Tuesday 30th April Year 2 enjoyed taking part in a
Music Festival at Westbourne Primary School where
they had the opportunity to sing a number of songs in
unison with other schools. Some songs were sung as
rounds including ‘Kookaburra’ and ‘Cats and dogs’
and favoured classics such as
‘Windmill in old
Amsterdam’ and ‘Spring Chicken’. Each school
chose their own song to sing around the theme of
‘animals’. We performed a fantastic rendition of ‘The
Unicorn’ by the Bachelors.
It was a fantastic musical morning out.
Well done everyone!
‘Take One Picture.’ During our Arts Week, Year 3
re-created Georges Seurat’s Bathers at Asnières in
our
playground!
We depicted
the bathers,
a boat with
a lady using
her parasol
and in the
background there is a large bridge and several
factories.
We thoroughly enjoyed learning the French words for some of the objects in the picture and
selecting suitable music to accompany the work, namely Debussy’s Clair de Lune.
