COMPANY HISTORY
Arch-Tekton Consulting was established in 1987 with the aim of becoming a significant role player in Mangaung and
the Free State’s built environment. Arch-Tekton Consulting aptly derived it’s name from a combination of the Greek
root ‘arch’, meaning ‘chief’, and ‘tekton’, meaning ‘builder’
We are confident that both our name and our service will continue to live up to the reputation established more
than 25 years ago.
In 2009 we joined forces with a well established multi disciplinery consultancy firm, which enable us to provide the
proverbial one-stop service regarding architectural, civil- & structural engineering, town and regional planning,
quantity surveying and project management services – all under one roof.
MISSION STATEMENT
With architecture as our core professional bussiness, our mission and
design philosophy focuses on the unique needs of the client. While we are
proud of our creative thinking and sense of innovation, we do not indulge
in experimental, extreme or trend-setting architecture at the expense of
our client.
Rather, we aim to pair the client’s vision with our professional guidance
and well thought through suggestions so that the result is a building that
is fully functional, aesthetically pleasing, budget-friendly and fulfilling
the client’s expectations, while never negotiating on architectural and
aesthetic excellence.
We respect and strictly abide to the SACAP professional code of ethical conduct.
EMPLOYMENT POLICY
As an Exempted Micro Enterprise (EME) and due to the varying dynamics of the built environment, Arch-Tekton
Consulting’s employment policy is based on the core structure principle with a permanent registered architectural
professional , who will employ architects, draughtsmen, students, survey assistants and other professionals on a
part-time or contractual basis, or by entering into joint ventures as and when required to ensure the highest level of
service delivery and expertise. When necessary, Arch-Tekton Consulting will source and contract related disciplines
in the built environment to assist with specialist services.
Arch-Tekton Consulting is committed to social upliftment. Therefore, the contractual employment of the
previously disadvantaged groups is an integral part of our policy.

Fees for standard services are calculated in accordance with the SACAP / ECSA recommended schedule of fees. However, the most appropriate fees will always
be negotiated with the client, based on the budget, scope and complexity of the project and services required.
