Product Overview:
Carbaryl 4L is a spray applied insecticide designed to control most major groups of shade
tree pests. Along with its ease of application,
Carbaryl 4L offers quick insect control upon
contact, and unlike other products, it does not
cause phytotoxicity in plants.
How do I apply it?
Dilute Carbaryl 4L in water and apply as a
foliar spray using hand or power-operated application equipment (such as a portable pumpup or backpack sprayer).
When do I apply it?
Applications can be made as insects become
visible or are present. Reapply at a 10-14
day interval for insects such as scales, leaf
beetles, aphids, and adelgids.
Note: Do not make more than two foliar
applications per year.

How much product do I need?
It is important to apply the proper dose to the plant you are
treating. Gather the following information to determine the
accurate amount of product needed:
1. Determine the type of plant and disease to be treated and
verify any application specifications on the product label.
2. Carbaryl 4L is applied as a spray-to-drip application, ensuring the foliage and canopy is thoroughly covered. Determine the quantity and average size of trees you are planning
to treat and use the chart below to ensure you have enough
product mixed. These are only rough guidelines but can be
quite useful for planning your treatments.
