One helpful discussion noted the interpretation of forest plots within meta-analysis. How would you interpret this forest plot? Polycythemia Vera On Tuesday Richa Patel and Quinn Nguyen presented a patient with unilateral lower extremity pain and weakness. His story was complicated by progressive multiple sclerosis, but the team was able to identify DVT with pulmonary embolism. Interestingly the patient had significant polycythemia with a hemoglobin of 22! This was the 3rd pulmonary embolism presented at noon report in a row, all from very different underlying predispositions! THE STETHOSCOOP PAGE 2 VOLUME 2, ISSUE 28 PAGE UCMC Resident Olympics! Congratulations! The clinic is evaluating improvement measures for uncontrolled diabetes with HgbA1c>9. Using process mapping, we are currently evaluating a standard workflow for patients that are struggling and with the initial basis from recent graduates’ quality improvement research publications. Congratulations to Glenn and Loni Quarles as they welcomed Lillian Eva this past week! Tips from the Clinic: When was the last time you ran a report on your clinic patients? You can run your patient list in Epic, by going to Reporting Home, and searching for "PCP" in the library of reports. This list provides a list of all patients in Epic where you are listed as the PCP. You can connect directly to the patient's chart from this list. You can also access a list of your patients, through the monthly data that Dr. Warm distributes via email.
