Sacramento,anorganizationcommittedtobringingtogethertheFilipino-Americancommunityto
exploreideasaroundidentity,politicsandculture.Outsideofwork,Lindaenjoysdancinghulaand
learningaboutHawaiiancultureandthearts.

IconsidermyselfafeministbecauseIamastrongadvocateforapproachingissuesintersectionally.As
someonewhosubscribestoamultitudeofidentities--woman,cisgender,multi-ethnic,heterosexual,
Democrat--Iamdeeplyawareofbothmyprivilegeandsocietaldisadvantages.FeminismasIperceiveit,
isamovementforallwomenofallbackgroundsandexperiences.Wheneveryonehasaseatatthe
table,feminismisstrong.ThisiswhyIamcommittedtounderstandingfeministissuesthroughmore
lensesthanjustmyown.

learnfromyourpositionontheboard?
IfeelIamreadytobecomethenextFemDemsMemberServicesandOutreachCoordinatorbecauseI
ameagertosharetheFemDemsmissionwiththegreaterSacramentoArea.OneofthewaysIhopeto
achievethisisbystrongrelationshipbuilding.ThroughmyworkwithBarkadaSacramento,Ihavebuilt
relationshipswithintheFilipino-Americancommunitytobringlighttothevarietyofissuesmy
communityfaces.Ibelieveourmembershiphascontinuedtogrowbecausewehavemaintainedan
inclusiveandsafespacebycultivatingandmaintainingrelationshipswithotherSacramentocommunity
leadersandnon-profits.IhopetodothesameforFemDems.
IfelectedtotheBoard,IhopetolearnabouttheinnerworkingsofhowaDemocraticCluboperates.I’m
particularlyinterestedinhowgoalsaresetandissuesareprioritizedbytheBoardandhoweach
person’sskillsetswillbeutilizedtoaddresstheneedsofourcommunity.
