Advice from current freshmen Get your work done right away and have fun when you get done. Don’t get behind! Get on the teachers’ good side. Take advantage of clubs and sports to meet new people. High school is so much better! The classes aren’t as scary as you think and the upper classmen are actually nice to you. Be yourself! Don’t be afraid to set boundaries. Be open. You may leave with different friends than you came in with. Carry a backpack with you so you don’t have to go to your locker all the time. Get to know your teachers and you will enjoy school so much more. Ask questions; don’t be scared. You’ll find your way around the school after the first couple of days. You can always ask anyone for directions. Do your work, because if you fail a class, you have to do it over. Take classes that matter toward what you want to do. Remember that 8th grade is practice for high school. Start setting time aside now for homework and studying.
