Tips and Ethics
A Few of Our Residents
OPRD supports the American
Birding Association (ABA) Principles
of Birding Ethics. Please remember
that the welfare of the birds depends
in large part on all of us. Visit
http://www.aba.org/ for more info.
Listening is the key to good
birding. Let your ears guide you to
the birds even if you cannot yet
identify the songs or calls.
Being slow and quiet will allow
you to approach the birds
more closely.
Steller’s Jay
Pacific
Wren
Stay on designated trails so as
to encourage the birds to feel safe
in our forest.
Be patient and persistent in your
quest to see field marks.
Barred Owl
Other year-round residents include:
• Great Horned Owl
• Golden Crowned-Kinglet
• Spotted Towhee
