Further news on the Survey of rule based (expert) systems and proposal Manuel presented his proposal for the MyCERN expert system. He focused first on the diagram which shows the functionality of the MyCERN system. Diagram Olaf suggested renaming the “Services” to “Connectors” and Doris suggested to add Foundation in the Systems as it is a central one. Enhance the visibility of the rule engine in the expert system as this is the only mandatory part (the others are optional but would be nice to have). 1 Summary of the MyCERN project meeting held on14.12.2016 The working group agreed that, after these 2 changes, the diagram was appropriate to be presented to the Extended Directorate. The diagram will need some refining in the second part of the project: - Show how MyCERN will work if an app is developed - Define if the expert system should be included with the external systems Data from services/API and communication Bruno suggested that the working group defines a preferred way for MyCERN to discuss with external services (API + authorization delegation) so that new services could implement it from the beginning if they plan to have a view on myCERN. For the existing systems, the group needs to verify if it provides already an API or if it will need to be implemented. The cost of this implementation should be defined and will have an impact on the estimation of the resources needed. Pedro suggested that each service should provide a list of their data that they want to appear in MyCERN. It was agreed that this should be done before finalising the report to the Extended Directorate. To be specified if it requires only r ead access or read/write access Pedro enquired if MyCERN should have a “read only” access to the data or a “read and write access”. Doris suggested that the first version of MyCERN should give a “read only access” for most connectors but it will depend on what the connector allows. If read access is provided now then a possible write access should be kept open for the future version. An example for write access is the photo which can be provided by the client through MyCERN. In the first version, the user would be directed to a procedure to follow. Search engine and recommender system Manuel tested the Cogito search engine and presented the results. He explained that Doris and Thomas should be part of the discussion with Cogito in order to give precise indication on what would be needed from them. The working group agreed that MyCERN could be launched without the semantic search engine and the recommender system as these are not mandatory for the system to work. Manuel explained that there is expertise in his group with the Drools tool but not with semantic search and with the recommender system and thus they would need to gain some experience. Doris added that the semantic search and the recommender system seem to be the future trend of making a system attractive and therefore it could be implemented but in the beginning be made available for a selected group of beta testers until it is seen to be sufficiently stable and useful. 2. Estimated resources for the implementation of MyCERN in 2017 In general, it was difficult for each member to give an estimate. Doris pointed out that it was important that resources for the MyCERN project would agreed in the respective groups and the 2 Summary of the MyCERN project meeting held on14.12.2016 respective department head is well informed about the status of the MyCERN project and the position of his people to the implementation of their respective parts. Thomas explained that he has an estimate according to the mock-up and taking into account the implementation of APIs. He suggested that the Expert system should be built and supported by AIS and the User Interface by IT. He also pointed out that his resource evaluation needs I will obviously not take into account developments which have already been planned and staffed by IT. Pedro pointed out that there will be some extra work with regards to authentication as all services do not use the same. IT uses AUTH, AIS uses SSO and Access control uses basic authentication. It was decided that Pedro and Thomas discuss with Stefan LUEDERS, from the Security team and with IT DB. Sotirios explained that for IR, the infrastructure is fine and should not be an issue. Olaf and Gabi explained that they were not able to estimate the resources needed before the working group has a more precise list of the procedures and data needed for MyCERN. Manuel needs more information on the output wanted for the expert system. - List of services - List of procedures - List of information needed for each procedure and user - Need for an interface between the expert system and the business expert Marion and Doris will prepare the set of detailed procedures to send to Manuel. The working group agreed that a full list of services and procedures has to be provided for the meeting on 10.01.2017 and that an estimate will be given from all members on 17.01.2017. 3. Present conclusion for the mock-up Thomas demonstrated the latest version of the mock-up which he adapted according to Bas and the group’s feedback. He created a mega menu, added some content in the tiles and made all of them clickable. He also made the search box more visible. Soritios and Doris had met with Fabienne. She will send a suggestion for the branding and the colour scheme for the mock-up. Doris suggested that all members should look into the latest version of the mock-up to make sure nothing is wrong or bizarre. 3
