Tips and Hints:
1. Decimal place value names have a “ths” ending: tenths, hundredths,
thousandths.
2. When deciding which decimal is larger, think of the decimal as
money. Would you rather have $1.25 or $1.27?
3. When working with the decimal pattern puzzles in lesson 1-6, fill in
the empty spaces as well as the empty boxes. This will help you
establish a pattern.

4. When writing a decimal equivalent to a fraction, listen to how you
say the decimal out loud. When you say, “.05 as Five Hundredths,”
you hear the fraction 5/100. Write it as 5 over 100.
