related to the mission. Include all the required information throughout your
book. At least 2 sentences must be written for each letter. An illustration is
required for each letter, with a minimum of five (5) illustrations drawn by

Father Serra. (The illustration could be of the San Diego mission).
Parents, please note: this project can be more difficult as it can take more reading and
research. Your help may be needed to help your child choose the 24 different words.

Use 3x5 notecards to record the required information you are to

how you are going to present it in your project by creating a “story

mission project. Have fun!

o What padre(s) founded (established) your mission?
o When was founded?

BIBLIOGRAPHY
Proper researchers keeps track of all the books and articles they read while
collecting the information they will use when writing their own report. This list
of references is called a bibliography. Please make a bibliography card for
each resource you use. You are required to use at least two books and one
internet resource. Below is the way you write the required information:
Book reference:
Author’s Last name, first name; Book Title, City: Publisher, Date.
Internet reference:
“Title of site/article”, website address (http:// etc.). If known, the Date.
YOU WILL BE GRADED ON:
-
Using your own words! Paraphrase everything you write! Do not copy any
sentences word for word from your research. When you do, this is called
plagiarism. (It’s like stealing another writer’s words and giving yourself credit for
them.)
-
The effort you put into your project
-
Accurately including all of the required information
-
Using correct spelling, punctuation, and capitalization in your writing
-
Your note cards (to be turned in with the project)
