Topic Overview
How it teaches ‘Community’

Year 4 will study the changes
in farming over its modern
history from manual,
mechanical and through to
electronic.
They will investigate how the
changes have impacted on,
and shaped farming over the
years—in both positive and
negative ways.
Project Finale
Children will create 3 pieces of
artwork for 3 different eras of
farming, along with an
explanation text summarising
their investigation work.
The art and writing will go on
display for parents to view and
uploaded to an art gallery on
the school website.
