4 Club got
together on Sunday, March 19, 2016, at the Candor Free Library to learn about painting with acrylics
on canvas. We asked Mrs. Carling to help us. Mrs. Carling is an Art Teacher at the Candor Central
High School. We each picked a painting project ba

Farm Fanatics 4-H Club . . . . The On Saturday April 2nd the Farm Fanatics 4-H
H club took a field trip
to USDA inspected Reed Brook Meat Processing where Donnie Van
VanDusen
usen was so kind to give us a
demonstration of a slaughter of a pig and a steer. We were able to see everything from the humane kill
through the process of the animal hanging in the coolers. Donnie also went through internal
intern parts and
different cuts of meat. Only one small hiccup sent Donnie up a really tall ladder to fix the machine that
lifts the carcass up. Ian (the owner) also stopped in and went through the cuts of meat of beef animals.
Donnie also went through the various
rious machines in the shop and explained what they are used for. This
was very educational and a great field trip. Wee were very happy they were willing to let us come in
and visit. A great big Thank you to Donnie and Reed Brook
Brook.
