PRIVATE LESSONS
Private music lessons are taught on the CMDS campus
in the Wilson Ross Educational Building in 30-minute
sessions. Lesson days and times are set according to
student-teacher availability during the school day, as
well as after school, on an individual basis. Advanced
students may take 45 or 60-minute lessons with instructor recommendation.
The Maxine Moore Music Academy, founded in
2005, was made possible by a generous donation
from Mr. Ray Moore in memory of his wife, the late
Maxine Moore. Our mission is to bring glory to God,
to provide excellent musical instruction, and to enable our students to achieve their personal best in
musical expression. All of our instructors are dedicated Christian professionals with college degrees and/
or Music Conservatory Certificates in their fields.
NO MAKE-UP POLICY
Each student receives a copy of his/her instructor’s
schedule, along with contact information for each
MMMA student. Should a conflict arise, students
should make arrangements to swap lesson days/
times with another student, or he or she may choose
to forfeit the missed lesson. CMDS students with
scheduled school-sponsored field trips or class trips
may request a makeup lesson (if it is not possible to
swap lessons). The instructor must be notified of this
situation as soon as possible. All teacher-cancelled
lessons will be made up. No refunds will be given.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
Private lessons will be cancelled any time that Christ
Methodist Day School is closed for bad weather.
These lessons may be made up by calling your instructor. No refunds will be given.

CALENDAR & FEES
Rock and Praise Band Class
Seven lessons conveniently scheduled around your
vacations and camps, from June 7 through August 12.
Developed by our guitar instructor, Rick Forbus, several years
before “The School of Rock” movie was released, ROCK 3:16
is a one hour class consisting of three to six students on
complementary instruments (guitar, bass, drums, keyboards,
vocals). Assembled by age, ability level and, when possible,
taste in music, students learn how to work and perform as
a band, in a hands-on setting using pop, rock, comtemporary country, and praise music. Prior music lessons and his/
her own instrument are pre-requisites for this exciting and
innovative class.
