WHEN OUR TEAM IS WELL, WE ALL DO BETTER TOGETHER Reshaping Your Total Well-Being for 2017 Why “Fit for the Future?” When Larry Miller passed away in 2009 from complications due to Diabetes, we suffered a tremendous personal and business loss. Gail and the family wanted our Company to create a wellness initiative that would transcend this tragedy into a positive, educational environment that would enrich the lives of others. And so we began our journey into teaching about Metabolic Syndrome—that’s knowing and keeping your blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and waist/body circumference within appropriate medical ranges. In addition to lifestyle factors, we know that Metabolic Syndrome has a direct impact on diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. Also, Fit for the Future focused on the need for you and family members to have a relationship with a primary care physician and have regular checkups to ensure your health is on the right track. “Everything you do is directly affected by your health, and your health directly affects everything you do. When you are healthy, you think better, you work better, you have a better home life, and you have better relationships. You have more time to do the things you love.“ —Gail Miller What’s Coming in 2017? How It Works Fit for the Future will have a fresh and renewed focus on well-being. Well-being is more than just staying in shape–it means paying attention to nutrition, understanding the importance of social interaction and mental wellness, and it’s also about keeping good financial practices. All full-time employees will be eligible to participate in our well-being initiative to help you form healthy, holistic habits (and hopefully squash a few of those habits that aren’t so positive!). Powered by the mobile app or website of WellRight, we’ll challenge you at your specific worksite to assess your health and engage in group challenges with your teammates. You are also free to design your own personal challenges. Our health champs will continue to serve as your location’s well-being contact, linking you to Fit for the Future initiatives and charging you up on your journey toward well-being! LHM-WEL-2017 Curious about the challenges coming your way? Below are just a few of the many choices WellRight will offer to the LHM team to improve its well-being. Participants can choose from over 50 available challenges. FAQs Q: Do I have to participate? A: Nobody will force you, but since you can focus on areas you want to improve, isn’t it worth a try? Q: What if I forget to track everything? A: We get it, you’re human. The system reminds you to log entries (that didn’t make it in via text message or your wearable device). Q: I’m in great shape. How can this possibly challenge me? A: Remember, there is something for everyone. Physical fitness is key, but of equal importance to your well-being are nutrition, mental health, and good financial practices. Q: Can my boss see my health information? A: Good question. The WellRight platform is fully HIPAA compliant. That means all personal health data you share with the system will never be shared with anyone at LHM. Q: I use a FitBit to track my activity. A: Great news! The WellRight platform integrates with most major wearable devices and a handful of mobile fitness tracking apps. Q: Is anything deducted from my pay for this? A: No. The wellness program is fully sponsored by LHM. book ght.com/21habits lri Download at wel CN)WKFG GNNPGUU5WTXKX *CDKVU#9 *CDKVU H 6XUYLYDO*XLG $:HOOQHVV MARATHON GLUTEN FREE YOGA LOW CARB MEDITATION ORGANICS )WGTEKQ^/ NNPGUU CHALLENGE EXAMPLES KVEJGNN /KVEJGNN TEKQCPF6CF /KEJCGN)WG Jump Start Your Good Habits!
