Contact: Lara Mays Bethel No. 247 Danville, CA Email: [email protected] www.iojd.org International Order of Job’s Daughters Job’s Daughters 108th Installation of Officers The Danville Job’s Daughters hosted their 108th semi-annual installation of officers on January 5, 2008 at the Danville Grange Hall located at 743 Diablo Rd. The theme for the evening was “Learn from Yesterday, Live for Today, Hope for Tomorrow.” The girls entered the dimly lit Hawaiian decorated room carrying dolphin plaques as onlookers watched from the sidelines. Jennifer Lurie a sophomore at San Ramon Valley High School was the Mistress of Ceremonies and the Installing Honored Queen for the event. Elected officers installed for the spring 2008 term were: Mari Gilliland, Honored Queen -a sophomore at San Ramon Valley High School. Lauren Muhleman, Sr. Princess- a junior at Campolindo High School in Moraga. Megan Gordon, Jr. Princess a sophomore at Monte Vista High School. The ceremony included two musical performances: a singing solo of “Thy Will Be Done” was performed by vocalist Kristen Morris with piano accompaniment by Pam Morris. Also performing was Dan Gilliland accompanied by Lauren Muhleman on guitar as he sung “Somewhere over the Rainbow.” The ceremony was concluded with the Arch of Steel provided by the Castro Valley and Pleasanton DeMolay. After the ceremony guests enjoyed refreshments and dancing. DJ services were provided by the Castro Valley DeMolay. Job’s Daughters International teaches ladies ages 10-20 years old important skills for life, such as leadership, public speaking, organization, teamwork and self-reliance. Girls also learn a sense of community by participating in philanthropic projects. Regular meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 7 PM at the Danville Grange.
