W elcome to The Stunning Tents Company. We hope you will find inspiration within the pages of this brochure, and share the buzz we feel when dreaming about what’s possible. We’ve worked hard on our brand image over the years, building up an extensive portfolio of photos, floor plans, videos and 3D animations. But there’s no point just looking good, and having a slick sales process. You have to deliver on your promises. We (not very humbly) think that’s an area in which we excel. Floor plans I serve on its Executive Council, ensuring we comply with the latest Health & Safety requirements. CAMPING TIPI LITTLE HAT TIPI KUNGSöRNEN TIPI GIANT HAT TIPI PAGE 02 PAGE 08 PAGE 13 PAGE 14 PAGE 16 01 Tents and interiors It’s the unique flexibility of the Giant Hat that makes it an inspiring choice for all types and sizes of event. 02 Giant Hat Tipi Solid wooden poles and a light tan-coloured canvas produce a natural ambience that’s really like nothing else. Dress it up, or keep it simple, either way you can be sure to create an exciting alternative to a “white box” marquee. Pitched on its own with “sides down” it looks like a conventional tipi; with “sides up” it resembles a giant witch’s hat. And it’s this ability to raise the sides that also makes it possible to link the tipis to each other, creating a single larger space. All manner of configurations are possible, and there’s no limit to the number of tents that can be linked together. Whether you’re having an intimate party for 50, a wedding for 150, or a corporate event of 500 or more, there’s a configuration of Giant Hats that will work perfectly. Each Giant Hat is 10.3 metres in diameter with its sides down, or 13 metres with its side up. 03 Interiors How you dress your Tipi is, of course, a matter of personal taste. A simple rustic feel, or a sophisticated party environment — a cosy winter wonderland, or a summer chill out area. 04 Relaxed furnishings Bean cubes around low coffee tables, side tables with table lamps, all finished with Persian rugs make for a welcoming, relaxed chill out area. Include a fireplace in the centre of the tent too, for an extra special ambience. Long tables with benches or chairs Our 2m x 0.7m Swedish tables are made of solid wood taken from sustainably managed forests. Seating 6 or 8, the tables can be arranged in many different ways. Long tables can be coupled with matching benches or used with chairs. Round tables with chairs Where round tables are required, we suggest using 5’6” round tables seating 10 per table. These tables need a table cloth (not provided) and, of course, must be used with chairs rather than benches. create all sorts of other extraordinary effects. We use pin spot lights and uplighters controlled with a dimmer in our Giant Hat tents. This produces pools of light on tables, dancefloors or other features and internal illumination of the apex of each tent - its most dramatic feature. Reindeer skins Using reindeer skins to cover the benches adds a genuine Nordic touch. They are soft, comfortable and very warm. Lighting The possibilities for lighting are almost endless. We provide a range of options that we know work well in the tents but it is, of course, possible to Other options include colour changing lights, a mirror ball hung over the dancefloor, or fairy lights hung in swags from the apex. Flooring DandyDura® matting laid on a damp proof membrane is the most popular option for flooring. It is highly resistant to rot, stains and smells. GridMat, a versatile interlocking black plastic floor, can be used if a firmer surface is needed under the matting. GridMat flooring can be used in its own right too, with no covering; as a walkway up to the tent entrance; outside the front of the tents for a reception area; or even as a dancefloor. Staging and dance floors Staging is available in 8’x4’ sections to make up to the size required. It is 1’ high with black drapes around the edges. Dance floors come in a various sizes starting at 12’ x 12’ (for up to 50 people). Open fire An open fire transforms the feeling inside the tents, creating a wonderful atmosphere and a delightful focal point. Our fireplaces are timber framed with a sheet metal firebox that sits on top so that the base of the fire is at hip height. The fireplace sits in the centre of the tent so that smoke can escape up through the smoke hole. External heater Whilst an open fire will provide some local heat, we provide external diesel powered heaters that sit outside the tent and duct warm air in under the bottom edge of the canvas. They are highly effective and will keep the tents warm on the coldest of days. Bar Curved wooden bar sections can be linked together to form quarter-circle or semi-circular bars, providing frontages of up to 6 metres. Power, loos and chillers Super silent generators, luxury toilet units up to 400 guests and chillers are all available. If we can’t supply what you need, we probably know someone who can. 05 Kungsörnen Tipi Little Hat Tipi Camping Village Pitched separately or linked to a Giant Hat, the Kungsörnen can be used as a chill out area, a reception area or a catering tent. The Little Hat is perfect as a canopy for barbeques, as a smoking shelter or as a welcome tent. When pitched it looks like a witch’s hat (it has no sides) making a versatile canopy in keeping with our other Nordic Tipis. We are often asked to supply a number of smaller tipi tents for guests to sleep in overnight. Available in three sizes, our Camping Village tipis have a single internal metal pole, an inner tent with integral groundsheet and a high tech construction to withstand the worst that the weather can bring. It has the same construction as the Giant Hat but is smaller at 8.5 metres in diameter. Rather than having the possibility to raise the brim, the Kungsörnen has a 4 metre wide opening that can be used to link it to several connected Giant Hats or, when pitched separately, to provide a view. 06 Little Hat is 5.5m in diameter. Camping Villages can include tents of all three different sizes, sleeping two, four and six people. Camping accessories Get a cosy night’s sleep with our most comfortable mattress, the DreamTime™ which has a three-layer design including a removable self-inflating mattress, comfortable sponge top, and plush fleece cover. We haven’t come across any other camping mattress that comes close in terms of comfort. We can also provide battery-powered camping lanterns to see what you’re doing in the dark! Tipi-coloured walkway Solid oak double doors Branding Those finishing touches Available in 3 metre sections, with or without walls, our walkways use the robustness of traditional marquee walkway design, modified to be in keeping with our tents. So the upright poles are made of wood rather than metal. The angled supports are made of wood too, rather than using ratchet straps. The canvas is in a colour that matches the tipis. And the width and height have been specially chosen to allow the walkway to fit into a Giant Hat zippered doorway. We were genuinely excited when we installed our first set of double solid oak doors for the Giant Hat during early 2009. We had been working on the design over the winter and thought we were on to something good, but seeing them in place for the first time was pretty special. Branding for corporate events is important of course, and we’ve developed two techniques for exterior branding: • Erect a 6’ flagpole to rise directly from the apex of a Giant Hat or Kungsörnen. • String a 6.5 metre x 1 metre banner between the apex of two linked Giant Hats. Internally there are cross-bars running horizontally around each tent approximately 3 metres up from the ground, making perfect hanging points for banners and posters. Don’t forget to think about: • Mirror ball and fairy lights. • 3’ diameter iPod or cake table. • Easel and A0 board for a table plan. • Black drapes, to screen off a catering area, or as a dramatic reveal. They look great, and transform the use of Giant Hats for late autumn/winter/early spring events; no more fumbling with zips in the cold or leaving sides open to let in a cold draught. 07 Floor plans We can configure the tents to suit any event, large or small. Here are some of their comments. “I would like to thank you for being so brilliant and providing such amazing tents. They looked absolutely incredible. Everyone has been saying it’s the best wedding they have ever been to, and a big part of it was the very different and unique tents. Thank you for a thoroughly professional service throughout.” Kate, Gloucestershire, December 2009 “Your team were a delight; the putting up and taking down went like clockwork and we so enjoyed watching its creation from just a few struts and then the amazement on all our guests faces when they saw the tent in all its glory.” “Just a quick note to say that the tipis looked fabulous, everyone was amazed as I’m sure they usually are, they created just the feeling I wanted for the wedding and I am thrilled with the effect they had, thank you for all your help and support.” Lulu and Simon, Northamptonshire, August 2010 “We wanted something a bit different for our wedding and the tipis created exactly the atmosphere we were looking for. They looked awesome in the setting and made the day infinitely more stylish and unique - thank you Stunning Tents!” Laura, Norfolk, May 2009 Irene, West Sussex, August 2009 “The Giant Hat and Little Hat that you provided were undoubtedly one of the highlights of the ball. They created a magical atmosphere that we simply could not have achieved with regular rectangular marquees, and a lot of guests have commentated that their distinctive design helped to set our ball apart from other college’s balls that they have attended.” 16 Nick, Keble College, Oxford, May 2009 “Thank you from a very happy crowd in Kent, the “stunning tent” (giant hat) was wonderful, and we have had great feedback from everyone who came along to the party. You have a great team and a great product! “Thank you so very much for all your help!! Everyone was amazed by the tents and the weather was glorious!! I will definitely be recommending The Stunning Tents Company.” “Wow is about all we can say – the next best thing would be to send you copies of all the letters we received from guests who felt compelled to say something about the tents and what an amazing atmosphere it helped to create. It made our special day just SO special – absolutely amazing!” Eunice, Kent, August 2009 Katie and Tom, Herefordshire, Sep 2007 “Letters have been pouring in saying that they loved your Stunning Tents. The atmosphere was absolutely terrific. I am sure this was due to the originality of the tents, hardly any of them had seen them before and it made for a very relaxed atmosphere. We were so very sad to see them go - I wish we could have them as a permanent fixture.” “I would like to thank you for providing the inspiration for a 21st party that was deemed by all to be a huge success. The flexibility provided by the combination of tipis - together with the reindeer skins and log fire created a fantastic atmosphere. The attention you gave to our project from the first meeting to the dismantling could not have been better.” Guy and Bridget, Hampshire, June 2009 Andrew, Oxfordshire, June 2009 The day went beautifully, everyone seems to have had a wonderful time... Please pass on our thanks to all concerned, from a VERY SATISFIED customer.” “The tents looked stunning. I know probably everyone says this but in this setting, surrounded by hills and open plains in the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty they seemed almost made for the place, they seemed to belong. They were especially magical at night with the full moon because up close the tipis are just high enough to rise above the line of hills.” Jane, Kent, May 2010 Alan, Hertfordshire, July 2009 We really hope we can do it all again! Hopefully soon! “I just wanted to write to thank you and your team so much for an excellent job at the weekend. The client was completely thrilled and your team were incredibly friendly, helpful and efficient. Thanks for bringing everything together and for making a special trip out to oversee. Best wishes and we will be in touch shortly no doubt!” Alecka, Essex, June 2010 A magical experience to remember from The Stunning Tents Company wyldebydesign.co.uk www.stunningtents.co.uk 01256 882114 The Stunning Tents Company Unit 6b Ash Park Business Centre Ash Lane Little London Tadley Hampshire RG26 5FL The information contained in this brochure does not constitute an offer and The Stunning Tents Company reserves the right to change it at any time without notice. 11/10 © The Stunning Tents Company 2010
