Clothing Information
Students are expected to present a neat, suitable, and attractive appearance. All clothes must be clean and in
good condition and should be clearly marked with each girl’s name since many girls have the same kind of
clothing. THEY MUST NOT BE RIPPED, FRAYED, OR PATCHED even if purchased in that condition.
FOR CLASSES AND DINNERS
• Skirts (two inches above knee or longer)
• Shirts (neat tees, polo or oxford style)
• Sweaters (white cardigan required)
• Dress slacks, khakis or corduroys (no blue
jeans, velour pants, sweat pants or leggings)
• Shorts or Capris (four inches above knee or
longer; no jeans, velours, sweats or leisure
wear)
• Flat shoes or sneakers
• Dress shoes (1 pair navy dress shoes
required to wear with school uniform –
“TOMS” are not acceptable )
• White uniform (measurements will be taken
when students arrive on campus)
FOR CASUAL AND CORRIDOR WEAR
Same as above
• Jeans (no cut-offs, rips or tears)
• Tee shirts (no offensive slogans or designs)
• Shorts (no cut-offs, rips or tears)
• Sweatpants or leggings
• Sneakers (and cleats depending on sport)
• Sports bras & athletic socks

• Long bathrobes (required on corridor)

FOR OPENING TRADITIONS

SPORTS CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT
Available at school for purchase throughout the year for
girls joining teams.
Prices are approximate.
• Required: Mouth guards for field hockey and lacrosse
cost approximately $2.00. The first mouth guard is
provided by Westover. Any additional ones will be
charged to the student. Team Socks for soccer, field
hockey, and softball will cost approximately $4.50. The
first pair of socks will be provided by Westover. Any
additional pairs will be charged to the student.
• Cleats (field hockey, soccer, lacrosse, softball) $65.00
• For girls playing specific sports: field hockey stick,
$65.00; lacrosse stick, $65.00; field hockey and lacrosse
gloves, $20.00; lacrosse goggles, $55.00; squash racquet,
$60.00; squash goggles, $45.00; squash shoes, $60.00;
softball glove, $45.00, team swim suits $50.00
• Sport specific team uniform pieces that become the
property of the student range between $20.00-$60.00.
• Westover warm-up suit, $135.00 (Strongly suggested,
but not required)
Students will be charged a replacement fee for any school
owned uniform not returned at the end of a season.
Financial assistance for those who qualify is available from
the school’s Faculty Fund for help with the purchase of the
above items. Requests may be directed to Meg Eggert, Dean
of Students.

WHAT TO PACK IN
YOUR EMERGENCY BAG
We ask that all students prepare a bag that contains items they will need in
case we have to evacuate the main building. The bag should remain packed
throughout the school year and kept in the student’s closet.
Clothing
• A jacket or coat (waterproof)

• A long sleeve shirt
• A sweater or sweatshirt
• Sneakers/Boots
• A hat and gloves
• A change of underwear
• Extra socks

• Any medication you are authorized to keep in your room, i.e.

• A sleeping bag or warm blanket

• Extra pair of glasses (if possible)
• Toothbrush and toothpaste

• Photocopies of personal documents such as Social Security Cards
and Driver’s License. (An adult will bring student passports if
necessary.)

Dorm rooms are not lockable. All closets, however, do have a lock and students are provided with a lock upon
arrival. We do ask that you PLEASE DO NOT BRING IRREPLACEABLE, PRECIOUS KEEPSAKES OR
EXPENSIVE JEWELRY
