Old Business - September minutes approved with corrections. Dianne Munson has an excused
absence.
HAC Appointments and Terms of Office: Sue Blackwell's reinstatement letters were sent to
Commissioner Ken Doherty. Emma-Lou Craig's position on the board has started as of October 2014.
New Business• Historical Markers- Carl Bailey Cemetery- February, El Jobean Cemeteries- April or May, and
First Methodist Church (?) in August. The proceeds of the Indian Spring Cemetery Tours will go
towards the Historical Marker Program. Historical and interpretive marker sponsorships were
deliberated, but will need further discussion and approval.
• Reviewed examples of different county's Demolition Permits to compare/contrast to the Charlotte
County permit.
Fundraisina-Selling Bunkhouse t-shirts during "Cookie House" Tours
Punta Gorda History Update- Membership drive.
Historic Surveys- Development for public Historic Preservation Plan Charlotte County. 1599 Placida Rd,
total demolition- Approved.3627 Easy Street- Add screen cage to the existing porch. 2310 Pine Grove
Cir- Lanai. Demolition permit in development for 1765 Manor Rd, Englewood- Metal roof.
Historical Staff report- Library Manager Anne Shepherd resigned. Lanette Hart, Librarian Supervisor,
will be stepping in until the position is filled. Jackie Brown is on medical leave for maybe two months. Scot
Shively is doing Historical Reviews in her absence. Lynn Harrell and Jackie Anderson have been hired as
the new Program Assistants.
History Programs & Exhibits- "Christmas on the River" at East Elementary School December 17th.
Junior Leadership Charlotte Collections Training at Grace St. December 19 , 2014 time TBD. Cookie
House Tours January 24, February 21, and March 21, 2015 also the tour will be held for Lemon Bay Fest
February 10, 2015. The Tales of Indian Springs was a great success and another tour will be planned for
March 7, 2015.
Bringing History to Life
Archives and "Friends of the Englewood Archives" -Articles/Agreement by January 2015.
Preservation project updates -
Cookie House- Is in the process of being added to the Nation Register.
Bunkhouse- Grant Application in progress.
Mercer Cemetery- Need to hire an archaeologist in December/January
Historical Center update - The Justice Center collection storage will be moved Dec. 16-18th 2014. The
CCHC offices will be moved in Jan 2015 to offices at Grace St. Annex.

Dec. 16th.
