The 2nd Round Table Conference on Gandhi was held on 6 April,2015 on the theme ‘The Death of Gandhi’. The event, after the successful first edition with the first year students in 2014, was opened to all the students of the college across disciplines. Students were asked to select incidents and events, means and methods, causes and ramifications, explanations and explorations, literal and symbolic, to analyse the death of Gandhi. Shri. A. Annamalai, Director, National Gandhi Museum and Library, Rajghat, New Delhi graced the occasion with his introductory remarks. Dr. Rishi Nanda, Associate Professor, Department of Philosophy, St. Stephens College, University of Delhi Delhi and Dr. Babli Moitra Saraf, Principal, Indraprastha College for Women, University of Delhi, Delhi, adjudicated ten student presentations, duly selected through a rigorous screening process. Nihita Kumari (Sanskrit Department), Kajal Rana( Political Science Department) and Divya Tripathi and Ateka Hasan( Political Science Department) won the First(Rs.5000-00), Second(Rs.4000-00) and Third(Rs.3000-00) prize respectively. The Judges’ Special Prize (Rs. 2000-00) was awarded to Shaonlee Patranabis from the economics department. The day was also marked by a Charkha Lec-dem. A photo exhibition on Dandi March symbolized Gandhi’s repealing of the salt tax law on 6 April 1930.
