The Tundra
“The coldest of all biomes.”

Types of Flowers:
The most known flowers and
plants of the tundra are
BearBerry, Arctic Moss, Arctic
Willows, Caribou Moss, and
Pasque Flowers.

In both Alpine and Arctic tundra consists of very curious
and unique animals that have adapted themselves to that
environment.
ARCTIC:
Alpine:
MOUNTAIN GOAT AND MORMOT
ARCTIC HARE, CARIBOU, AND POLAR BEAR
Weather and temperature
● Most of the tundra is located in
Canada, Alaska, Greenland,
Russia and a bit of the North
Pole.
● The average temperature in
winter is -34 C and in the summer
it is 3-12 C.
● In the tundra, there is annual
precipitation of 6-10 inches.
● The wind in the tundra is 140
kilometers per hour
● There is no moisture in the
tundra.
Coniferous
“Like a mysterious travel.”
Types of flowers:
There are very few flowers (mainly trees) because of the lack of nutrients
in the soil.
Vegetation:
Lichen and Moss.
TREES:
WILLOW TREES, ASPEN TREES, AND PIN
TREES.
ANIMALS:
Most of the animals have adapted to this biome by hibernating. They
raise their young in the summer.
BEARS, THE SNOWSHOE RABBIT, and Mooses.
Weather and Temperature
● This biome is located in North America,
across Asia, Siberia and Mongolia.
● Mostly it’s chilly because cold winds
from the arctic circle pass by.
● It’s turned away from the sun in winter.
● Winter is the longest season (3 months)
and it’s average temperature is -30 C.
● Summer lasts for only 3 months and it’s
average temperature is 30 C.
● Highest temperatures go from July to
August and lowest are in January to
February.
Deciduous
“Where the grass is greener.”

This biome’s canopy includes:
MAPLE AND
birch trees
Huckleberry, azaleas, lichens and moss.

This biome is thriving with curious and amazing animals!

In the winter the average
temperature is -22 F.
In the summer the average

Tropical Rainforest
“Year-round warmth and adventure!”

There are too many animals in the rainforest to count, so here are
the most famous/ well known.

Weather and Temperature:
● Tropical rainforests can be
found mostly around the
equator such as the tropic of
cancer and the tropic of
capricorn.
● There is a short dry season
along with a long rainy
season.
● Annual rainfall is 79-89
inches.
● Temperature is no higher
than 93 F and no lower than
68 F.
Grasslands
“Not your average stroll in the park.”

Flowers:
Trees are sacred because of little rainfall. Although the
grass gives scenery and liveliness to this biome.
Grasses like blue grama and buffalo grass are well adapted for drought.

Grazing animals are seen in groups because of the plentiful
grass. Keep your eye out!
