Our school Phonathon concluded on Thursday evening. Thanks to staff members Terri Huerta and
Liz Munoz; teachers Mrs. Breitschwerdt, Mrs. Lopez, Mrs. Olvera, Miss Peinado, Miss Ferraro, and Miss
Dapra; and parents Nicol Acevedo, Sandy Blanco, Laura Echeverria, Susie Escamilla, Veronica Mata,
Merilisa Ramirez, Maryann Robles, and Dunia Sanchez for making this valuable contact with our alums
from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s!
Attention all 6th grade Parents! Today a letter is being sent home to you regarding the Tdap
immunization that is required by law for all incoming 7th graders. Please read this letter carefully and send in
proof of this immunization as soon as possible.
Applications for Tuition Assistance from the Catholic Education Foundation and/or San Gabriel
Mission Elementary School are now available in the office. Please pick up the forms and instructions as soon
as possible. There are On-Site appointments on Tuesday, February 21st at San Gabriel Mission High
School that are needed for the CEF process, so please schedule it.
Thanks to Robert Acuna, Velia Morgutia, Fabiola Canales, Marisela Canales, Emily Covarrubias,
Lorena Covarrubias, Stefan Deusch, Maryann Robles, Sandra Yanez, Dana Zambrano, Sandra
Zambrano, and the members of the Class of 2017 who hosted a wonderful reception following the Rite of
Reconciliation on Saturday.
Monday, February 20th is a school holiday honoring Presidents’ Day. Friday, February 24th is a
school holiday so that the teachers may attend the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Religious Education
Congress beginning on this day. It is also the End of the Second Trimester.
Tuesday, February 21st is our second Open Campus from 10:00 – 11:30 am. Please tell anyone
considering enrolling their children at Mission.
Wednesday, February 22nd is our Deanery Science Fair in the Parish Center from 6:00 – 7:30 pm.
Please come and see the work of our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade who represent Mission and the work of the
representatives from our Deanery schools.
Our annual Mother/Daughter Event is coming on Saturday, March 11th. The coordinator, Lynn
Leiro, and her committee are looking for volunteers. If you would like to be a part of this event or you need

to the your email for more information.
Please pray for our Academic Decathlon Team who are getting ready for the event on Sunday, March
5th. Good luck to Ms. Nunez, Toby Agapito, Christopher Blanco, Lauren Burrola, Moises Bustos,
Emiliano Camacho, Jacob Escamilla, Isabela Esparza, Arianna Gomez, Victoria Hernandez, Abigail
Platon, Christopher Rosado, and Jose Vicerra.
