"We visited 24th elementary with the purpose of working with first graders on their school garden. It was a cool
experience for me because we spent a lot of time interacting with the kids. I was impressed with the amount of
knowledge they had on gardening. Not only did I really enjoy going but I also learned a lot. On April 4th and 5th, we
had guest speakers talk to us about their careers. It was really cool to hear their personal story and how they ended up
in their career. What they said was not only very interesting but also taught us life lessons. Even though they all had
different careers, it was always the same message, which was to do what you love and get business handled in school."
-Written by Kevin Negrete (11th grader)
"Matt Imhof was a professional baseball player that came in to the Academy to speak. Matt was an interesting guest
speaker because he made me realize that something you love can be taken away in a second and change your future.
He didn’t let his injury determine the rest of his life and kept working and is still happy."
-Written by Charlie Anguiano (11th grader)

placement in the academic continuum. They then set goals with their online teachers
while students and parents receive weekly updates on progress.
Summer Smarts is an ungraded enrichment program that gives your Kindergarten
through 8th grade student a chance to review foundational skills to be prepared
for the next grade level, accelerate, or catch up with his or her peers. These
programs start with a pre-test to see where the student needs to focus and then he
or she is prescribed just the right lessons to grasp needed concepts. Students will
