The church is a short walk to Onondaga Lake Park where campers will be engaged in activities to learn about the lake and plants and animals that inhabit and surround the lake. The Adventure Center (pictured above) is located in the church and provides youth with indoor recreation that build leadership skills and team building. REACH CNY staff and partners develop and facilitate multi-disciplinary learning activities built around Onondaga Lake and CNY’s other green resources. Rosamond Gifford Zoo hosts a collaborative education day lead by the Zoo Guides, their youth peer educator program. New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation provides access to New York State park facilities and field biologists. Onondaga County Resource Recovery Agency (OCRRA) offers on-site environmentally friendly education about trash, recycling, and composting. At Adams Eden Adventure Camp, youth will spend time hiking, swimming and participating in a skill building ropes course. Syracuse Center of Excellence in conjunction with the Save the Rain Project leads a community improvement project with campers (e.g. rain garden). CNY Works provides camp counseling opportunities to 13 youth (ages 17–21), who receive training and job experience, preparing them for meaningful careers. SUNY ESF the oldest and most distinguished institution in the U.S. that focuses on the study of the environment, offers their expertise and knowledge to train staff and camp counselors ensuring a sound educational experience for campers. Food resources Camp Green Teen seeks to connect health and wellness to being green. That means we want youth to know where their food comes from and the impact it has on the environment as well as their health. Organic and local gardening, cooking healthier, shopping to have healthier meals are all a part of Camp Green Teen! T-shirts and Printing Services The T-shirts will be worn at camp events and have our partners listed on the back.
